Can this fan be used with two switches instead of the remote. Have one switch for the light and another for the fan?

Yes and No. I have two major issues with this fan. To start, this is a remote operated unit and it comes with a receiver that must be installed in-line with all of the other wiring for the fan. This is a problem because the receiver is far too large to be housed anywhere within the unit or within the ceiling, and is far too ugly to be mounted outside. This leads me to my second issue. I proceeded with installation without the receiver planning to operate it just by using the wall switch only to find out that there is no way to control this fan without the use of the remote. There are no speed dials or switches to control the lights. Additionally I have disassembled and rewired twice and the lights still will not come on. I would select a different unit if I were you. It looks great cosmetically but there were some major oversights with regard to its usability.

The lights work but the fan doesn’t work. Anyone else having this problem??

If it’s a fresh install. Turn the fan on high and smack it with your hand on the top of the motor housing a few times. (Firm but not super hard). It’s just an electric motor with brushes. Chances are the brushes are stuck to the commutator. This happened on one of the three of these fans I bought. The other possibility would be the fan is wired incorrectly so check all connections. You will know it’s wired right but brushes stuck if you put your hand on the motor and turn fan on. You will feel a very faint buzzing/vibration (with fan on high). If the fan has been installed for a while and stopped working brushes are probably worn and need to be replaced.
