Right price, fair quality - no drips - full 1" flow - liquid pressure gauge
Right price, acceptable quality. Installed, not a drip or leak. 1) The pressure gauge is oil filled and OK quality, 2) the plastic female threads are the biggest weakness in the design, but if you a) avoid over-tightening, b) use Teflon tape and pipe dope - they seal just as well as brass fittings do. I installed 2 of these right next to each other for well sediment: the first housing I place a filter 60-10 micron and the second housing has a filter 25-1 micron. Installation tip: You should install the pressure gauge BEFORE you attach the metal hanging bracket to the filter housing top. Once the metal bracket is installed there is very little clearance for you to wrench on the pressure gauge. Much better to install the gauge first!

Clear Water and Peace of Mind!
This whole house water filter cartridge does an excellent job of trapping sand, rust, and sediment, ensuring clear water throughout my home. It's made of durable polypropylene and lasts a long time (4-6 months), meaning fewer replacements and easy maintenance. It's a reliable, heavy-duty solution for well water filtration!

Doesn't leak!!!
I like to pack my own water filters and monitor the pressure drop so I purchased three of these to put in series. This was a replacement for a Max Water system that I have had for over a year and could NEVER get to stop leaking. I put these three together, mounted them, and turned on the water--no LEAKS! Turns out the fittings are properly machined so everything goes together smoothly but snugly and even when my water pressure is up to 60 psi there are no leaks. Also, the pressure monitors are accurate! I bought refillable 20 x 4.5 casings and packed my own filters and these BB housings hold the casings properly and direct the water through the filter material (as evidenced by the pressure drop and the quality of the water coming out). When there is no flow through the system, they all read the same pressure (as they should). I'm so happy with this system I know I've reached peak middle age.

Good product, but plastic threads
Works great, but the only flaw is the inlet and outlet are plastic, which gave me a little hard time to stop small leakage, had to remove the adapter and double up on teflon tape

Proper assembly for a leak prof installation.
This product came with a bracket and screws for mounting. I personally installed the filter in and all copper domestic water supply system. Here is a tip for those of you having leaks and the threads on the inlet and or outlet at the top. Purchase at your local home supply center some double density Teflon tape. Oatey sells this product and it is grey in color. Wrap the male threads several times in a clockwise direction. Next, apply a sealant such as Megaloc or T plus 2 and apply that onto the ale treads on top of the previously wrapped tape. Always apply sealants to the male threads and let it squish out upon assembly. Never apply to the inside fittings, the female threads as this will almost certainly introduce the sealant into the water supply. Now these threads are NPT which means the threads are tapered and the fittings get tighter as the assembly is tightened. Use a pipe wrench when assembling this type of joint and be sure to solidly support the cap with the threads that you ar tightening into. Plier, an adjustable or properly sized wrench will slip off the fitting you are tightening because a lot of torque/force is required to make this a leak tight joint. It takes some feel/experience to know how much force to apply given the size of the pipe wrench used. With NPT threads such as the ones in the cap of this product, it is possible to tighten too much and fracture the threaded boss area. If this happens, the assembler went far beyond the tightness required to make a leak prof joint. This is due to the taper as previously mentioned in this type of assembly.

Flawed, wouldnt recommend
Decent priced housing, takes universal cartridges, but uses plastic threads which get damaged way too easily. The pressure relief on both units i have also leak, not enough to warrant taking the whole system apart but still annoying. (NOTE its the upper two in this picture)

Used for high iron content well
I installed this on my well which I use for irrigation. We are in an area with a high iron content, so whatever the water hits gets discolored. I also got a 20k gallon pool and used the well to fill it once it was placed in the ground. The filter helped with discolored water, but it wasn't perfect. The pool guys said it made a difference in the water, but I still shouldn't drink the water. The filter is pretty dark and dirty after running 20k gallons through it, so it at least helped out a good amount. The housing is easy to install, as long as you know a little about installing plumbing pipe. The hardest part is screwing on the blue part with the filter inside - it is not light. Not easy to spin on yourself, it took me a few tries to get the threads to seat properly. A second set of hands would make it simple, but not required. I did have to dig a hole and put a bucket in the ground for my setup, it was easier than redoing more of the PVC and keeps the setup a little lower for when I finally cover it during the winter. The problem with this is I can't use the tool provided to tighten or loosen the housing. Oh well. Overall, I sure hope this helps in the long run. I will definitely be replacing the filter before summer (pool in December) when the sprinklers start up again.

The Aquaboon 20" x 4.5" Whole House Water Filter Housing is a heavy-duty solution for anyone serious about improving their water quality. Whether you are dealing with sediment from a well or chlorine tastes in a municipal system, this "Big Blue" style housing provides the flow rate and durability needed for a busy household.Build Quality & Durability This housing is built like a tank. The reinforced polypropylene construction is thick and sturdy, rated to handle high pressure without any signs of stress. The black cap features double O-rings, which is a massive upgrade over single-ring designs—it practically eliminates the risk of leaks, provided you lubricate the rings properly during installation.

This is a beautiful set up. Unfortunately I had to order some sharkbite pieces to attach to my hoses as my hoses were smaller than the input and output of the big blue - but it’s a beautiful set up and very easy to do. Non-plumber here.

This unit does not arrive with any filter. Need to purchase separately.

No issues installing this whole house water filter. It works well but can’t speak to durability. This unit has two “O” ring seals plus a pressure gauge. Installed end of March/25 … no issues so far.

This is a very sturdy water filter housing. One thing to watch out for is the depth of the 1-inch NPT ports on the unit. There are bosses inside that limit how far a bushing can be threaded into it. In my case, the allowed depth wasn't enough to properly seal using teflon tape on the threads. I ended up using an expensive plumbing thread sealer to eliminate the water leaks at the ports.
