This housing is an exact fit for standard Pentek/Pentair setups, but the build quality is in a different league. The plastic is darker and noticeably thicker than the light blue Pentair housing it replaced, which gives me confidence it will stand up to UV exposure much better over time. I originally bought it just to swap out a Pentair unit that had cracked from sun damage, and the installation really was plug‑and‑play. The included key is a huge improvement: it has heavy, deep teeth that bite firmly into the housing, unlike the flimsy Pentair wrench that barely gripped because of its tiny teeth. The integrated pressure gauge was a pleasant surprise and adds a nice bit of visibility into the system at a glance. The double O‑ring design also inspires confidence; both rings come pre‑lubricated with food‑grade silicone, so they seat and seal easily on first install with no drama. One detail that really sold me on this housing is how securely it locks into the bracket. On my old Pentair setup, tightening the sump too much could cause the whole housing to slip or fall out of the bracket, which never felt safe. This unit grips firmly — you can tighten it down and be 1000% confident it is not going to slip out like the one it replaced. The fitment is precise, there’s no chemical odor out of the box, and the overall finish feels like true value for the money. In short, this is a substantial upgrade over the typical Pentair/Pentek housings: thicker, darker plastic, better tooling, smarter sealing, and genuinely confidence‑inspiring hardware. I highly recommend it.

Right price, acceptable quality. Installed, not a drip or leak. 1) The pressure gauge is oil filled and OK quality, 2) the plastic female threads are the biggest weakness in the design, but if you a) avoid over-tightening, b) use Teflon tape and pipe dope - they seal just as well as brass fittings do. I installed 2 of these right next to each other for well sediment: the first housing I place a filter 60-10 micron and the second housing has a filter 25-1 micron. Installation tip: You should install the pressure gauge BEFORE you attach the metal hanging bracket to the filter housing top. Once the metal bracket is installed there is very little clearance for you to wrench on the pressure gauge. Much better to install the gauge first!

This is working for me but you have to be really careful to make it not leak you have to really use a lot of thread tape on the input on the output. And then use a little more than that. You have to have a big wrench to crank this thing tight so it doesn't leak but I have it working well it doesn't leak. This thing has handled water pressure that was higher than I expected up to 80 psi although it says to not go above 70 psi.

Works great, but the only flaw is the inlet and outlet are plastic, which gave me a little hard time to stop small leakage, had to remove the adapter and double up on teflon tape

I like to pack my own water filters and monitor the pressure drop so I purchased three of these to put in series. This was a replacement for a Max Water system that I have had for over a year and could NEVER get to stop leaking. I put these three together, mounted them, and turned on the water--no LEAKS! Turns out the fittings are properly machined so everything goes together smoothly but snugly and even when my water pressure is up to 60 psi there are no leaks. Also, the pressure monitors are accurate! I bought refillable 20 x 4.5 casings and packed my own filters and these BB housings hold the casings properly and direct the water through the filter material (as evidenced by the pressure drop and the quality of the water coming out). When there is no flow through the system, they all read the same pressure (as they should). I'm so happy with this system I know I've reached peak middle age.

I installed this on my well which I use for irrigation. We are in an area with a high iron content, so whatever the water hits gets discolored. I also got a 20k gallon pool and used the well to fill it once it was placed in the ground. The filter helped with discolored water, but it wasn't perfect. The pool guys said it made a difference in the water, but I still shouldn't drink the water. The filter is pretty dark and dirty after running 20k gallons through it, so it at least helped out a good amount. The housing is easy to install, as long as you know a little about installing plumbing pipe. The hardest part is screwing on the blue part with the filter inside - it is not light. Not easy to spin on yourself, it took me a few tries to get the threads to seat properly. A second set of hands would make it simple, but not required. I did have to dig a hole and put a bucket in the ground for my setup, it was easier than redoing more of the PVC and keeps the setup a little lower for when I finally cover it during the winter. The problem with this is I can't use the tool provided to tighten or loosen the housing. Oh well. Overall, I sure hope this helps in the long run. I will definitely be replacing the filter before summer (pool in December) when the sprinklers start up again.

I have finally after 3 weeks finished this plumbing pain! The problem is that threads on this unit are pretty deep. Too deep in my opinion! This is where the problem is. So I did some plumbing research on fittings and what to do. It states on 2 websites that teflon tape is to be wrapped no more then 4 time should be sufficient. I did this and well it leaks. I had to cut the pipe and redo the plumbing. Well while this worked the other side started to leak. Great! So what I had to do is cut that pipe and install a Union so that I could at minimum not be cutting the pipe if it didn't work. So I then had another leak on the other side and well put more teflon on it and threaded it back on. The problem again is the threads are so deep that when you have just a slight tweek it will cause water to leak out. This should be a simple straight forward plumbing job. Cut a main water line. Plumb in PVC pipe to the water filter and plumb in to the house water plumbing. It's not a job I recommend any home owner to do. If you do I feel your going to be frustrated. I installed a ion hard water filter to get the hard water we have under some type of control. It is recommended that a filter be put in as a pre filter. SO I did this as well as after. Only to find out that if you have a space in between you better have a union fitting on it so you can take it apart to fix a leak and reesemble it. Again this is the 3rd week that I had cut my pipes to fix the leaks because Teflon tape needs to be packed on the treads so much that you can barely see the treads. It's just plain a nightmare. The first attempt I had to just remove all the filters and straight plumb the PVC Pipe to have running water in the house. Just plan on a plumber having the same problems that this filter has with leaks. It's not a matter of how tight you can get it, but how much teflon tape you will be using to seal the deep threads. My recommendation is to buy something else due to the threads in this being the problem. If you like messing with plumbing and risking your family being with out water then this is the filter perhaps that will suit you. Of coarse filtration once installed leak free probably works as good as anything. It's the filter media your looking to work at removing solid matter in microns. If your using multiple filters use a union filter that unscrews if you need to put more teflon on it because you don't need to cut the pipe. GOOD LUCK! Would I do this again? HECK NO!

I bought two of these, and am impressed by the excellent quality of the product. Everything is well designed and manufactured. The housing threads are smooth and flawless. The housing itself and the manifold (top) are heavy and solid. The mounting bracket is very heavy gauge, and will never bend. The pressure gauge is large and oil-filled to prevent vibration and wear ... a real quality gauge. If you wonder about the partial fill of oil, be aware that that is normal. My only criticism was that one filter package was short a washer ... pretty minor. So I got a better quality filter, with more features, at a lower price than anywhere else I saw it.

This is a beautiful set up. Unfortunately I had to order some sharkbite pieces to attach to my hoses as my hoses were smaller than the input and output of the big blue - but it’s a beautiful set up and very easy to do. Non-plumber here.

Résultat? Qualité cheap, petit dégât d'eau, retour du produit. Frustrant. J'ai commandé l'Aquaboon à 89$. En série : un 5 microns suivi d'un 1 micron. Installés en juin 2023 sur ma source d'eau off-grid au Monts-Valin. Depuis? Zéro problème. Deux personnes à la maison, usage quotidien — on parle de centaines de milliers de litres filtrés. Les boîtiers polypropylène avec ports 1" NPT n'ont jamais montré le moindre signe de faiblesse. La clé incluse, la jauge de pression, le bouton de libération rapide — tout est fonctionnel et bien conçu. Les cartouches standard 4.5"x20" se trouvent partout à bon prix. Pour 89$ vs 350$, t'as le meilleur produit. Va comprendre.

Decent quality for the price. Like other reviews said the threads were a bit leaky, but some extra Teflon tape sorted that out. Pipedope may also help prevent leaks. Overall I've had it installed for more than a year with no issues.
