Purchased this for a (flip for sale) renovation project and it epitomizes the fact that details matter. Is it a splurge over a standard shower drain? Yes. Is it worth it? YES. When tiled and installed correctly (relatively easy, btw!), it gives a subtle nod of luxury in any shower floor. The materials are quality, the instructions are clear, and it looks dynamite. In all of my projects, no one has ever noticed a shower drain. We’ve actually gotten compliments on this, which is a true testament to “The details are not the details. Got it quickly and we are installing it now. Looks like it will be exactly as pictured. I really like being able to cut a tile for the cover portion.

Love the internal strainer basket that prevents clogs. Super easy for the tile setter to install and the result is discrete and beautiful.

This drain looks good, with the same tile on cover it nicely blends with the rest of the tiles on a floor. However, I had some problem with it. The soapy water flow is limited in the drain gap that leads to the pipe. As a result you stay in a soapy puddle when taking a shower. After shutting water, it slowly drains off. Bernkot support was really nice and sent me "normal" drain with holes for free. This one works fine. So, this product might work or might not work for you. I guess it depends on how much soap you use or maybe on the angle of your bathroom floor.
