Very useful and practical guide to understand the ingredients in t=any cosmetic product. This is very relevant to skin care and beauty specialists because it helps sort out what is what. It is great to be able to pick and customize which products to work with as well a get a feel of the quality of the products. You will find yourself looking up just about everything in this book, and you will be surprised at some of the incredibly useful information you find. If you want to know what's in your shampoo/soap/lotion/toothpaste/vitamins/etc... whether it's good or bad for you, and what it was derived from, this is your book. You will probably find yourself wanting to buy a copy for everyone you know with allergies or sensitive skin. If you just read 1 lable, say favorite or kids shampoo bottle ingredients you'll flip.Manufactures use and combine 40letter word's to hide what the ingredients really are saying. In your bottle you will see SULFATES.....3-5 kinds even in gentle,no tear,hydration,ALL of em.SULFATES WERE ORIGINALLY ONLY FOR "STRIPPING GREASE &GUNK FROM TRUCK ENGINES "Its in your TOOTHPASTES.Any CONDITIONER can only work/absorb in your hair for 5min. Thats barely enough to try n fix what ur shampoo just did. True. Thise 30 min or all nighters do more, though most are led to believe different. Edta, in everything, its the main ing in EMBALMING FLUID (for the dead). Adding more soon. More bubbles &foamy suds is not better fo u than SULFATE FREE unless ur a greasy, gunky, grungy engine that you are washing. Read n see. Ull flip n like me get a little upset that OUR FDA, USA APPROVES MILLIONS OF INGREDIENTS IN FOOD N BEAUTY N MORE WHERE OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE BANNED THEM FOR YEARS!

Me preocupa el contenido de los productos que uso sobretodo los cosméticos, ya que me enteré que etiquetas como natural o eco no certifica que el material sea cierto. Ahora que estoy pendiente de mi salud desde todos los frentes, el diccionario además de explicar también menciona en qué tipos de productos se encuentran normalmente, menciona al inicio las legislaciones, en particular las de Estados Unidos. Me gusta la medida de bolsillo porque puedo llevármela conmigo, y que explique de manera muy sencilla sin tanto tecnicismos.

Questo libro e' indispensabile se volete capire che cosa mettono le case cosmetiche nei prodotti che utilizziamo quotidianamente. Nella maggior parte dei casi si tratta di agenti chimici che possono causare danni alla salute e sui quali non esiste alcuna certezza cerca i rischi per la salute/ambiente nel medio/lungo periodo. L'introduzione spiega come la Food and Drug Administration negli Stati Uniti sia impotente davanti alla lobby delle multi nazionali che fanno il bello ed il cattivo tempo. Nella UE va un po' meglio ma le schifezze chimiche pervadono i prodotti che utilizzano giornalmente: dal dentifricio al doccia schiuma. Questo include anche il mercato molto lucrativo dei bebe'. In pratica l;industria cosmetica e' auto-regolata: già, vengono i brividi al solo pensiero. Libro scritto con linguaggio non tecnico, di facile consultazione anche per i non addetti ai lavori (non occorre essere laureati in chimica o essere dermatologi per consultarlo), funziona come un dizionario. Gli ingredienti sono elencati in ordine alfabetico. Consiglio l'acquisto cartaceo in quanto con il kindle e' di difficile consultazione: con quasi 600 pagine continua a bloccarsi. Bellissimo libro che viene costantemente aggiornato.

The perfect product for those who are conscious of the chemicals they’re allowing their skin to absorb. Can be extremely hard to figure out cosmetic products but this helps so much! Every make up girl and guy should have this.
