Clairol Age Defy Expert Collection, 8a Medium Ash Blonde Permanent Hair Color (3 Applications) (Packaging May Vary)

bought the light golden brown, and my hair came out really dark. should've read more reviews as others had the same problem. using this shade really only made my roots the color with a slight bit thru the darker hair. stylist said that I would have to have my hair almost stripped and then colored again to get to the lighter color. I was going for a lighter shade of red without the brassiness. had a color yrs ago that was nice, but cannot find it anymore, and I'd have to get things taken care of with the stylist 1st. Clairol is a good product, but read the reviews. I'm 67 and was a red head. we don't really gray but go mousy, and thought I'd go lighter with red high lets. would love to find a way to get back to the old color they had a few yrs ago. but the light golden brown was really dark. don't use it if you want a lighter shade. this color will, at least, continue to lighten up with use, but it's hard on your hair to have it stripped and redone, plus expensive by a stylist.

I’m a stubborn 67 year old who still won’t give in to the fact that my hair is naturally almost all whitish gray. I certainly DO NOT FEEL as if I’m old enough to have white hair. How our minds deceive! I’ve tried root dyes, but they never seem to either “take” nor last long if they do take. And i do not want to go to the salon every 2-3 weeks. So I tried the Clairol Age Defy Collection, and although it may have helped cover my roots a bit longer than root dyes, it didn’t make a significant difference. And it didn’t initially cover all of my roots in the first place. I DO NOT KNOW IF I CAN BLAME THE PRODUCT OR MY HAIR, so I’m still giving it a 4 star review.The good things about this system is the pretreatment that leaves my hair looking shiny at the end of the process. The color is also very pretty. But I’m afraid I’ll have to give in and go to the salon after all.NOTE: This is an update of a prior 5-star review.

This is my favorite hair color. I can't seem to find it in local stores. Covers my gray hair perfectly. Fast shipping and repeat buyer.

It is nice to be able to purchase these on-line, which I did for over a year. However, the quality of the product is very inconsistent. There is no "expiration" date noted on any of them, but often the product will noticeably be separated, clotted or consistency such that it is difficult to apply. After the last batch I bought, I decided not to continue to waste my money. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 star because sometimes you would get a fairly good batch.

This item has become very difficult to find in stores. I have been using this color for years. It is easy to use and I am very satisfied with the realistic color. It is a medium brown shade.

My wife actually bought this for herself, but I liked the colour so much I tried one of the extra packages.It was much easier to do than I expected. Now I look like a new guy! Who says blonde guys cannot have fun too!

Easy to use, no harsh chemical smells, covers my grey beautifully, and leaves my hair softer than before!

I'm 74 years old and so thankful a great hair color is available. I color only my roots, but my hair grows fast, so I color about every two weeks. Age Defy helps keep my hair in good condition, not dry and frizzy and blends well. I like my hair longer and trim it every 3-4 months only.
