I love everything about the chair from the comfort to the stability. It was easy to assemble with a little help from a second person. the only problem I has was one of the straps ripped off of the pillow so now it doesn't stay up.

This chair was reasonably easy to assemble. Sitting in it is comfortable. The awning at the top is a little small to get adequate shade. Quality of construction is pretty good. But after a lifetime in product design I think there’s a few things that could be improved. The chair is top heavy. Making getting on and off a bit tricky. It also causes another issue I address later The seating surface right now, when new is really good. The cushioning inside it appears to be some sort of spongelike foam. While it’s dry it’s o.k. This chair is expected to be outdoors all of the time. And from time to time rain will fall. When the seating cushion gets wet it will stay wet for a long time. I find this to be a problem. I don’t want to wait many days for it to dry. As a result, I bought a cover to fit on it. This cover doesn’t say it was made by the same company but it fits very well and has fasteners so well located one might think it was. The cover keeps the rain off but introduces a problem. If the wind is strong during the rain storm (or otherwise) it will catch the wind similar to how a sail catches the wind. Resulting in the entire chair tipping over. Now this relatively heavy chair is lying on its side and the cushioning is getting wet. :( I did right the chair but I had to remove the cover and the cushioning to bring indoors to dry. Also, the included awning has poor screw connections for the wire spreaders. One screw was stripped as delivered. This allows one wire awning support to fall off. To address the fact that it can tip over in the wind with the cover on I’m going to try placing sand bags on the feet to try stopping this. This is going to result in it becoming somewhat unattractive. This is how things are right now. Maybe I’ll get it improved as time goes on and I’ll return and modify my review. As it is now, it’s a little unstable without anyone sitting on it. The color is perfect. It matches my house very well.

Assembly was relatively straight-forward. I made it easier by ditching the included "wrenches" and using 2 socket wrenches, sockets (13 mm, 17 mm, and Hex (Allen) wrench sockets). The instructions are a little lacking...not many words...mostly just pictures of how the parts are supposed to be assembled. There were no Step-by-Step instructions, so I decided to build the supporting frame "from the ground-up"...assembled the support frame (Hanger) by first attaching the feet, then adding the rear leg, and then the top piece. Doing this let me use the Hanger frame as a "second person" to hang the lounger frame from and then build it out "piece by piece". The minimal instructions do recommend having 2 people to do the assembly...and this is very important when lacing the "hammock fabric" to the frame. I don't think I would have been able to keep the hammock fabric tight enough without another person to provide "stretching" pressure on the opposite side while lacing (stringing) the rope through the grommets. Overall, this seems to be a heavy-duty piece of furniture. All pieces fit together as depicted and the provided hardware is made of quality materials. End result is a very comfortable hanging lounge chair. It is very comfortable...looking forward to napping in it soon! I rated four stars for "Easy to Assemble" because the directions weren't 100% clear about where to start and for the "leg assembly " being a bit difficult for one person to manage on their own. I included a close-up picture of the eye-hook connection between frame and the chair...it wasn't clear whether the nut that I used on the bottom of the eye-hook was supposed to go on top of the hanger frame "arm" or on the bottom. I chose to put the regular (non-locking) nut on the bottom of the arm to help stabilize the eye-hook. RECOMMEND: BCP provide an installation video on YouTube (or similar) to give a better idea regarding whether you are "doing it correctly". The comfort of the chair is worth the minimal time required to assemble.

I highly regret buying this. It was either this or something that basically came out of the box already built. I chose this because I wanted to put my feet up and the other was just a chair. I thought I could build this alone, and I did, but it took about 5 hours. I scratched the crap out of it because it's so heavy, which is a good thing so it won't fly away, but building it is very difficult if you're alone. Each part is very heavy, you don't know which end goes where and it took me forever to figure out which screws went where. I would have returned it after the first hour of getting no where but it's so freaking heavy and I didn't feel like transporting it to a return site. After hours and hours, I got it done and it appears to be sturdy (the frame is definitely heavy enough) but the base of the seat is attached with thin rope (which is also a huge pain to "sew" on to the frame) so here's hoping it doesn't snap at some point. It also said to pull the rope tightly as you moved up along the frame, I did but the base is now tightly on the right side with some open space on the left side. The sun shade will fly off at any bit of wind so remove that when you're not using it. With all that being said, it is comfortable to sit/lay in, that's why I gave it 3 starts. But I would have chosen the egg chair had I known it was so difficult to build.

One of the frame bars had no holes where holes were definitely supposed to be. It was the seat frame where the armrest piece attaches. No holes whatsoever. We had to drill our own holes through the steel which we did and it is only slightly skewed offline so not going to return it and just use it as is but what a huge fail. Otherwise the chair functions as described.
