Aquarium Carbon Pad - Cut to Fit Carbon Infused Filter Pad Media for Crystal Clear Fish Tank and Ponds (18 Inch Width, 36 Inch Long)

This filter pad produced tons of black carbon debris that is now floating in my tank, even after rinsing

I have a pond and my neighbor's tree's drops these seed pods into my pond and turns the water to a tea color. The water is clear, but discolored. Read online that activated charcoal would help me absorbing the tannins that cause the discoloration, so I bought some charcoal filter pads to try. These will not yield instant results. I don't think anything will except a water change. It took about a month or so of vigilant debris removal and these pads to remove the discoloration.

So I bought these just to filter solid waste for my outside tilapia pond. But to my surprise it did not just filter the solid but the water became clear after a few days of use. The pond is about 200 gallons with a little more than 60 tilapia in them. It is hard to keep the water clear because the amount of poop. So I go through filters frequently washing and reusing but these cleaned it all up like almost crystal clear. The only downside is that once it has been clogged you cannot wash them out and reuse them. I usually rinse the solids out of the filters and water plants with them. A great results for the price, pleasantly surprised pleasantly surprised!!!!!

Terrible, the carbon just won't stop coming off the padding material once you rinse it. So you keep rinsing until the carbon is about gone, or else it will just come off inside your filter and go into your tank. Total waste of money.

Let a lot of carbon particles even after rinsing like instructed.

The best way to use activated carbon... I really like it...

No dislikes. Great filter for the waterfall intake on the 3,000 gallon Koi Pond.
