Gets to work immediately
Perfect for my purposes. This device truly is plug and play. No special procedures to get back up and running after the old device quit on me.

Works with a Nikon D7500
This does work with a Nikon D7500. I use it with OBS and an Azden SMX-30 mic to livestream to Facebook and get excellent audio and video. By recording to a laptop instead of the camera I can exceed the 30 minute limit Nikon imposes on recording!

Cost me a Stream
Died about a month in to owning it. Refuses to show up on any PC. Straight up lost 100 bucks on this and will need to go buy something else. Will never buy AverMedia again

Pretty decent but not the best
Works pretty good just can't play fps games with it. Other than that it's great!

Works as intended with Sony a6100 on Macbook m3 max
I used a Sony a6100 with a Camlink 4K on my PC for years, and it worked without any issues. After switching to a MacBook M3 Max for work and connecting this setup to a dock station, the Camlink 4K started having issues with flickering, occasional green frames, and an overall unpleasant experience. It only worked properly when directly attached to the MacBook. I decided to try this capture card, which works perfectly through the dock station - no freezes or flickering.

This works great for external system capture, not just capture
I picked this unit up so that I could view some of my systems without a monitor. I simply plug the HDMI from the system (raspberry pi works great) into the correct port and plug it into my PC and instant video access without requiring a monitor. This allows me to view the boot and keyboard and/or mouse with a system without needing an additional monitor. It also allows me to record the screen as needed. If you want to do a headless setup for system administering and occasionally need to plug in a monitor this works great.
