Crazy overpowered, but fun fun fun!!!
So far, so good. I have hit a curb solidly 3 times and it's held up pretty well, thus the 3 star rating... I haven't used it a lot yet. No damage other then scratching. The only issue.... this thing is super fast and way over powered for it's size. It can be rather difficult for a beginner. The shocks are soft for this type of vehicle, Which makes it hard to pilot. I think the steering servo is under powered as well. All of this makes it difficult to pilot. But for the price..... you can't beat this. If you live near a baseball field, smooth pavement or light off road kinda of stuff, you'll have a blast. I'm not sure how well this would perform on an offroad RC track. A bumpy surface would be rather difficult to pilot over and honestly, wouldn't be a great experience. The buggy is a lot more stable then the truck, Keep this in mind if your purchasing this item.

Fast fast fast
Fast fast fast. I bought all aluminum aftermarket parts I would strongly recommend leaving it stock until something breaks. I replaced everything with aluminum parts and doesn't run the same way as when it was stock! But super fast I ended up buying several cars by same maker and all work great

Wasn’t expecting a lot and it still fell short
Couple major gripes- 1. Wheel alignment is a joke. The tie rod (?) is too long so the front wheels are toed out, but also in a way that is asymmetrical so the car refuses to drive straight no matter how the steering is trimmed. You get to either pick drifting right or left. Those are your choices. 2. Controller has a weird random delay. Sometimes the car responds immediately, and other times, it stops responding for a second or two. This is how it managed to lose control, continue at full speed, drill the curb, and blow out one of the rear shocks. This happened at full speed, so small pieces went everywhere. I wasn’t able to recover a spring and that was it for this car. 3. Stupidly overpowered for its size. This isn’t my first rc, but this one is so overpowered for its size and weight that it flips about 50% of the time when accelerating from a stop. The top speed was impressive, but between the receiver problems and the alignment, there’s no way to harness the performance into anything useful. Hard pass on WLToys going forward.

Really Fun but Somewhat Advanced
This is definitely the fastest RC car I've driven. I'm not an enthusiast but just getting into higher end RC. I feel like this is a good introduction to that. Only docking it a star because I feel like for the price it should have a few more metal parts. I found out online there is a whole system of metal parts you can buy for it, which is neat. I think I will slowly upgrade it to mostly metal over time. Kind of a neat system to tinker with, but you have to sink a lot more money into it to make it really sturdy. For now it has taken our curb funny a couple times and launched and it lands fine every time after going 5-6ft in the air for 20-25ft or so into the grass. Eventually I want to build some small ramps for it after I upgrade some parts to metal. I also think it needs a little shielding on the front and sides to keep water spray out. We had a little water draining down the curb out front from some rain the day before, but it didn't take much to get up in there and cause it to temporarily stop working. I removed the battery and dried it out with a hair dryer on low heat and it was fine. But it makes me concerned over time. I may make some modifications when I upgrade it to the metal kit. Wish I had a 3D printer because it would make it a lot easier to fit a splash guard along the front and sides. The remote control is ok but it's kinda tricky to get it trimmed in just right and it always seems to have a bit of a drift. Makes it trickier to get it up to full speed for longer straightaways, but it could be the road surface along with me needing to develop more skill. My kids and the neighbor kids get a kick out of it. They love chasing it around the cul-de-sac and it always wears them out which makes bedtime easier. I need to get a few more batteries as well. The run-time on these is okay but I always want more and so do the kids! But the motor can get rather hot so it does need some breaks. I've seen cooling fins you can install online so might give that a try for the motor.

Buy 2 of them!
I’ve been into hobby grade RC for 25 years now and I can say that this buggy is definitely the best bang for your buck. I see people saying it breaks easy but, it doesn’t matter how expensive the car is. if it’s fast, it’s gonna break. Parts for this car are widely available unlike a lot of more expensive brands which is great because yes, they do break easy. But it’s made like a hobby grade, all the parts are replaceable and it’s fun to work on! This car is perfect for anybody that wants a good laugh and the opportunity to tinker and gain mechanical skills. This car blows Walmart away, it’s a rocket 🚀 oh and my favorite part about it is the “headphones” decal on the side. It just tops off how awesome and fun the car already is. Hilarious

THIS THING IS CRAZY FAST !!!!
I did a lot of research before I bought this car so I knew about what to expect and I was not disappointed this car is very fast with tons of power !!! even at half speed I gave it full throttle and it still broke loose and spun out !! the last car I ever had with this kind of power was a nitro !! the car does seem to bottom out on rough terrain but I think bigger tires and thicker shock oil will fix that over all I am very pleased with this car I plan to do a video review as soon as the weather gets a little better

Buy upgraded still parts when purchasing the 959B/979B
Well I did my research and was very pleased with the stats, bought all of the aluminum control arms and better shocks, extra battery’s, heat sink, wheels tires etc. the one thing I didn’t wanna worry about yet was the differentials going from plastic to metal. I assumed it would be something to fail later down the road so I didn’t have to tear that deep into it at first. Long story short the rear differential gears are toasted after 2 1/2 battery charges. Sucks but fixable and will be a better machine.
