Instant Pot Vortex Plus 6 Qt 6-in-1 Air Fryer with Odor Erase Tech, Black

I did a lot of research before purchasing this air fryer and have zero regrets. It ticks all the features that make it a great buy. Easy to clean large basket, simple controls, a window, a light, quiet, controls cooking odor fairly well, and heats up quickly. Preheating is really unnecessary. I always use the minimum cooking time listed in the recipe. I don't normally cook meat in it since I use a grill 3 times a week, but decided to try a roast chicken. They recommended a 4lb chicken. Good luck finding a 4lb chicken. I got a 5.5 lb chicken and it fit fine. OMG! I'll never buy a store bought rotisserie chicken again. It was tender, juicy, and had beautifully crispy skin with flavor through to the bone. We use it mainly for roast potatoes, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, brussel sprouts, frozen pizza, tater tots, and hard boiled eggs. The eggs come out perfect every time. I bought it a year and a half ago for $109. There were similar sized air fryers that were cheaper, but none with all the features of this one.

I fully recognize I am about 20 years behind the air fryer eight ball! It seems as if everyone has an air fryer, and recipes are all over YouTube. Finally after persistent encouragement, I bit the bullet and ordered one. Of course as always, I read multiple reviews, watched YouTube videos, and sifted through all sorts of rankings on the Internet. Just trying it on for size, I did not want to spend a huge amount of money. This Instant Vortex 6 quart was on sale at a terrific price so with great reviews, it became the chosen one. It arrived on time, but admittedly the wait seemed long because once the decision was made, we wanted it now! The packaging was superb with no part of the appliance being damaged. After reading the accompanying information, she was finally plugged in, heated up, and ready for duty. Off we go! First experiment (you guessed it) was French fries...absolutely delicious...coming out crispy on the outside and nice and "potatoey" creamy on the inside. Looking back, I think we went through a 10 lb bag of potatoes that afternoon! Next came hamburgers, but the consensus was, "They were OK, but you can't really beat the grill." Number 3 on the menu was chicken tenders seasoned, floured, dredged in egg, floured again and into the air fryer...YUMMY! Again crispy on the outside but really moist and juicy on the inside. Without consulting the experts, shrimp were sprayed with avocado oil and even though delicious, we cooked them a bit too long (our fault not the fryer's). Itching to try something a little different, beef jerky made from flank stead won at number 4; all reported it was "fantastic." Each of these foods was placed directly on the tray and put into the air fryer. No parchment, pans, foil, or silicone baskets were used at all. The next question that arose was, "So what about eggs?" Let's just say the jury is still out as far as perfecting the time and temperature. But the taste, well it tastes just like a fried egg. We did learn that aluminum foil is better than the silicone basket for eggs. This air fryer is stainless steel, solidly and masterfully constructed, has 6 functions, and is one awesomely fabulous appliance! Once positioned it is stable sitting squarely on the counter top with a basket that pulls out to the front sporting a short but adequate cord. It is extremely user friendly and simple to operate. Preheating happens quickly with final heat ranging from 95 degrees to a maximum of 400 degree set with just a rotation of the dial; there is also built in shut off capability for safety and peace of mind. Clean up is very basic and simple; it is accomplished with a squirt of dish soap, hot water, swishing , rubbing with a cloth, rinsing and drying. No scrubbing or scraping needed. Because of the size and capabilities this air fryer would be a great asset in a small apartment kitchen, a first apartment, an RV, a tiny home, and even a “glamping” campsite. In our home it is rapidly becoming an indispensable kitchen appliance. I unequivocally recommend this air fryer. Oh my gosh, I LOVE, LOVE this air fryer! I use it almost daily. It runs a bit hotter than my previous one and I usually have to shave a few minutes off air fryer directions on the packages. But make no mistake that is not a complaint! This works so well, it's quiet, easy to use, and love the different choices: air fryer, bake, roast, reheat, dehydrate, broil... I've used them all and can't say enough good things for it. It has become a more important kitchen appliance than the microwave! It's not too big or too small, it's the Goldilocks of air fryers.

This is a fantastic air fryer! No greasy vapors with filter. I wasn't interested in an air fryer after seeing greasy residue above a family members. No vapor with this model. Fantastic option. If you have more than two to cook for I recommend the double. I was SO excited to make fantastic roast potatoes in half the time. My handle was damaged in shipping! I wasn't repairing it for what this air fryer cost me! I was grateful I could return it. One piece of handle popped off then I saw the stainless would not hold in place as a result. Extremely disappointed! I made perfect roasted potatoes and chicken on a kabob. I was immediately hooked on this product. Cut my cooking time for two in half. Chicken was moist, potatoes roasted perfectly. I am very proficient at a regular oven. With extremely warm temperatures outside this kept my kitchen cool. I am on the hunt for my replacement. This product needs to be double boxed during shipping!!! The box carry opening option on this product is why my air fryer was damaged in shipping. If this product was boxed in a regular shipping box it could have been avoided. A replacement option wasn't available. I will buy another. This is a perfect product for places that have warm temperatures most of the year.

This should be a 4.5 rating, but Amazon doesn’t allow it. First, the good: this is an excellent air fryer. It heats quickly, is reasonably roomy, and allows for small normally-oven meals to cook quickly, even on a hot day. Due to the fast heating it’s also very energy efficient, which means it fights the AC a lot less than my full size oven in the summertime. The energy savings alone are worth the price of admission. Among food standouts are cheese fries and French onion soup au gratin. Next, the ish. Although the filters to keep smells down are great, my machine has not turned off its light to indicate it’s time to replace the filters for the better part of a week after replacing the filters. Also? I’d like to get a replacement basket in case I need to put mine in the dishwasher, but there seems to be no way to buy one without buying a complete extra unit. These are why it’s not a 5 star. They are minor quibbles, but they need to be said. I will happily keep using this throughout the year, as will my family, and if I need a replacement it will be hard to top this unit with what’s currently on the market.

Before buying, I researched a variety of Air Fryers, including Consumer Reports' recommendations. I even borrowed an air fryer from a friend (wire racks as opposed to a bucket style). I am extremely happy with the Instant Vortex Plus 6 QT. Pros: 1. It is a workhorse, holding a full 6 quarts of volume. I am only one person; however, I like to bulk cook and this air fryer works beautifully for large amounts. 2. Simple to clean - the bucket removes easily, as does the wire rack insert. Soap, water and gentle sponging clean it easily. There are no wire shelves to scrub. 3. Simple buttons for digital controls. Not complicated at all. 4. Offers a variety of cooking settings so it not only air fries but bakes, roasts, reheats, etc. 5. Not overly large or bulky. Fits under my cabinets; although, I pull it out when cooking. Cons: 1. A bit pricier than other models but still feel it's well worth it. 2. The 6 QT bucket is a tad heavy when using one hand to take it out and mix the food. I am really enjoying this Air Fryer and definitely recommend, especially for someone new to air frying. Trust me, the bucket style is so much easier to use and clean than the wire racks. Enjoy!!

I purchased this air fryer in 2022 but didn’t begin using it until I moved into my new home in 2023. Initially, I was very happy with its performance. It cooked evenly, preheated quickly, and was relatively easy to clean. For about two years, it was a reliable part of my kitchen routine and made weeknight meals easier and more enjoyable. However, this satisfaction didn’t last. Recently, the air fryer stopped working completely. Every time I try to use it, it throws an error message telling me to “close the basket” — even though the basket is fully inserted and clearly locked in place. After doing some digging online, I realized this is not a unique or isolated issue. Many users have reported the exact same failure: a faulty sensor that falsely registers the basket as open. This is clearly a design flaw, and I suspect it's intentional. The malfunction started shortly after the warranty expired, which is suspiciously convenient for the manufacturer. Even more frustrating is how the air fryer is constructed: it's nearly impossible to open it up and fix or replace the broken sensor. Everything is sealed in a way that strongly suggests the company does *not* want consumers to attempt any kind of repair. In my opinion, this is a clear example of **planned obsolescence**. The product is built to fail just outside of the warranty period, pushing customers to buy a replacement rather than fix the one they already own. It's wasteful, environmentally irresponsible, and incredibly frustrating for anyone who expects their kitchen appliances to last more than a couple of years. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth — and not the kind an air fryer is supposed to deliver. I will **never** purchase another product from this brand again, and I strongly urge others to avoid it as well. If you want something that’s actually built to last, look elsewhere. Spend a bit more and invest in a brand that values quality and customer trust over short-term profits. **Bottom Line:** Do *not* buy this air fryer or anything from this brand. It’s a scam disguised as a kitchen appliance. You’re better off saving your money and choosing a company that stands behind their products with durable design and real customer support.

So far so good, I have not had it long but it sure is great not to turn an oven on in the summer!! 🥵 No more messy oven or stove top either!!👍🏼 i have made chicken tenders breaded, lightly spray with some avocado oil or any high heat oil. Rotisserie from stores are never cooked enough, crisp up the skin to a golden brown!! Burgers are great. I love this air fryer, easy to clean, dont use scrubbing items. I use this all the time now.🥰🫶🏼

I am so happy that I got this Air Fryer, I have tried cooking just about everything to perfection and I love how quiet it runs. There is plenty of room in the basket to cook my food in, and even the notification sound is not overly loud. Clean up is a breeze, no real need to soak it or put it in the dishwasher, just wait for it to cool and wash with warm water. For any first time buyers of an air fryer, this is the one you should really consider.

Love this model. The window in the front is very helpful. It super easy to use and does a great job with a variety of foods that we have tried. This is the second one I have purchased and have given it as a gift to my brother who is really enjoying it.

Best air fryer ever, it's not quiet, but when it comes to even predictable cooking this fryer can't be beat. Not too mention it is quality built unlike many others that are so cheap. If your looking for a long lasting air fryer, that will last for years, this is the one to get.
