ZQuiet Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece Single Pack, Size 1, Clear

PLEASE for your own sake, read to the end of this review. While this device doesn't work, there is a completely free method that is VERY easy to do at the end of this. No gimmick, no videos to watch, no specific products to buy (you very well might not need anything at all other than what you sleep on at home already, just a certain technique to stop snoring). Just a fellow snorer helping you out. To start, this product here is like a children's gag toy. It has absolutely nothing on it to attach it to your teeth. You put it in your mouth, and move your jaw around even the slightest bit, it falls right out. It even uncomfortably jams the corners against your gums as it moves out of place as well. The ONLY way this could be the slightest bit useful is if you used this in conjunction with a chin strap, to keep you from opening your mouth at all. But then, that defies the whole point of it being able to open and close. You might as well buy one where the top and bottom are just secured to each other. They do have a "Zquiet advance" mouthguard that is decent. Works MUCH better than this thing, FAR better. Only problem with that one is if you're a mouth-breather when you sleep (which most people that snore are), if you open your mouth too much with this device, your jaw will swivel back, and it won't help at all. No idea why they designed it the way they did (the arm attachment for the top should be towards the front, and the arm for the bottom should be towards the back of the bottom guard). Again, it's a good idea to use this one with a chin strap as well if you know you tend to open your mouth while sleeping. Sadly, with how hit or miss these types of things are, this is one of the two best ones I found to date. There's two swivel ones like this that have the right idea, but both of them have the same issue when they swivel back (and allow the lower jaw to swivel all the way back, closing off the airway). ------- *** One other note - this overall technique works VERY well for me, although it won't work so well for those that move around in their sleep. Use a device like this, but also, get a wedge pillow (about a 7.5" one to elevate your entire upper body; helps keep the tongue from falling back into the throat), and then a memory foam pillow to place on top of the wedge (for head/neck support). The reason I suggest a memory foam pillow is because of the steep edges on the sides. What you want to do is lay on your side, and turn your head slightly downward off the edge of the pillow. It takes some getting used to, and you might drool at first until you get the angle just right. One thing that I saw suggested that helps is to hold a pillow between your arms/legs. It causes your body to lean into it, thereby naturally causing your head to tilt downward a bit. By tilting your head slightly downwards like that, when your tongue relaxes, it falls towards the front of your throat, thereby preventing it from blocking your airway. Since I started doing this, for the first time ever, I have absolutely NO snoring at night at all anymore. Recorded three nights straight - not even a slight snore once. It was so quiet I thought it might not even be recording, until I heard myself get up at night to go to the bathroom (I would say I'm getting up and going to the bathroom, so that I wouldn't wonder if it was noise I was making while sleeping). Those were the only times I ever even made a peep, and I used to snore so loud the whole house could hear me. So again, mouthguard to push it forward, 7.5" pillow wedge, memory foam pillow, and sleep on your side with the head tilted slightly downward off the edge of the pillow.

Sorry for the long review…i just want to give ZQuiet the praise it deserves, since it’s Amazon ratings don’t do it a whole lot of justice. If you don’t want to read my review, fine. The title should be straightforward enough. “It actually works!” To be fair, I have struggled for a while to sleep with a mouth guard in (i have a super expensive, custom mouth guard made by my dentist after I had a tooth implant…it is not made to be an anti-snoring device…mainly just there to protect my tooth implant.) Even the custom, dentist-made mouth guard causes me so much tooth soreness and discomfort that i can hardly wear it…plus it does absolutely nothing for my snoring issue (it’s not it’s main purpose anyhow). My wife has had to deal with my snoring for a few years now, and it just keeps getting worse. Especially worsens with weight gain, but that’s a whole other issue that I am working on. With my snoring worsening, I really needed to find some sort of solution (especially for my wife’s sake). I will admit, I was kind of skeptical that an anti-snore mouth guard would even help at all. I first saw ads about ZQuiet on Facebook. But I never fully trust ads I see there so I ignored it. Then I also noticed the brand here on Amazon. However, the reviews/stars for ZQuiet kind of threw me off. There were other anti-snore mouth guards at a similar price point that appeared to be rated much higher on Amazon. So I tried one of the other brands (simply due to higher Amazon stars/ratings). I use an app called SnoreLab to try and track my results. Searching out and testing another mouth guard it was a really tough adjustment. After giving the other brands a few weeks of testing, I concluded that it just didn’t work for me (see screenshot of my results/journey). The other brands of snore guards made very little difference (check out my SnoreLab app results). So I searched for a different one. I kept seeing ZQuiet. I figured “why not?”. Even though the Amazon ratings aren’t as high as others for some reason, I decided to give ZQuiet a try. On my first night with ZQuiet, I spit it out. In fact, when I woke up in the morning, I found the ZQuiet next to my pillow (I must’ve spit it out of my mouth at some point during the night). Then I checked the SnoreLab results. For the first half of the night, my snoring was actually minimized significantly. In fact, from my screenshot, you can clearly see at what point I spit it out. It took about a week for me to successfully be able to wear ZQuiet throughout the night. As with all mouth guards I’ve tried, my teeth usually feel sore in the morning. But ZQuiet makes it worth it. I have gotten used to it and my tooth soreness has been disappearing (be patient!). I have added a few screenshots so that you can all see my results. I have added notes to the screenshots as well to describe what you are seeing. ZQuiet totally deserves a higher rating! Although I still have a snoring problem, ZQuiet helps significantly temper my snoring loudness so that my wife can finally get a peaceful night of rest! At this price point I would highly recommend ZQuiet! Nice thing about Amazon is that if it doesn’t work for you, just return it. What do you have to lose? (Gah, I sound like a freaking commercial haha)

So I will save you a bunch of reading. Yes, it works. But there are some major drawbacks. I'm male. In my early 40's and I weigh about 215. I'm about 20 pounds over my fighting weight. Snoring had become an increasing issue for the past couple of years until I was finally relegated to the spare bedroom. I was tested for sleep apnea and even had sinus surgery but the snoring continued. I bought ZQuiet after downloading the SnoreLab app and it was one of the suggestions. After using it the first night my snoring immediately improved, but my two upper front teeth hurt like hell. I can only figure it feels something like having braces on after an adjustment. Anyway it was painful. The product manufacturers warn you of this issue upfront in the documentation that comes with the device. And they also stated that after a few days the pain will get better. I would say for me this is only half true. The other issue, that worried me more, is that after a few days I noticed my teeth were actually moving. My overbite was changing and my teeth were coming together in strange ways when I would chew food. The other issue I was having, is that some nights I would spit it out in the middle of the night unknowingly. Apparently I was unconsciously rejecting the device, ha ha. So anyway, after using it regularly for about 10 days I stopped. I bought the soreRX Plus. It is similar to this device, but it has a moldable tray so it will form to your teeth. It also has an adjustable jawline, so you can change how much support your lower jaw needs. I have found that this device is superior. I have a little bit of jaw muscle pain, and my teeth feel a little different, but they're not necessarily moving and I am not spitting it out at night. Apologies for the long explanation, but I'm hoping the above information helps. All the best to you.

I bought the #1 mouthpiece to try. At first glance when I take it out of the box, it looks like one of the dollar store plastic kid mouthpiece toys. It does look like a cheap piece of plastic. The mouthpiece takes some getting use to, it is not comfortable and tends to be slightly loose fitting for me (as it is a one size fits all mouthpiece). The bottom part tends to dig into the gums behind my teeth and is sore and tender in the mornings. You'll have to get use to that one, that part won't go away. It had a really weird plastic taste and smell (when I first got it new) that I had to endure for a week and then it went away. It seemed to help when I sleep on my side but not when I sleep on my back. I tend to wake myself up with loud snores (snorts?) ever so often and that's how I know. After a few days, my wife said it doesn't work and seems that she can her me snore louder and more often than my previous mouthpiece. My complaint is that this mouthpiece tends to make my salivate a lot more than other traditional fitted ones. I'm not sure why that is but it may have something to do with the loose fitting rather than the custom fitting of the mouthpiece to my mouth size. I finally stopped using it after a couple of weeks and reverted back to my previous mouthpiece manufacturer. While I thought it was more convenient buying a mouthpiece that I didn't need to boil and customize, I now realize that there is no substitute to those. Even with my average sized mouth, it didn't fit well; I'm not sure how they are just sell a one size fits all mouthpiece.

This is the only anti-snoring device I have ever tried. Nothing to compare it to. My wife says it does NOT stop my snoring. But it does reduce it to a mild gentle buzz. I don't snort, gasp, or chainsaw like I used to. Some complain that it does not fit snugly. I find that a plus. It holds my jaw slightly forward just enough to open the airway. It allows my jaw to move, just not backwards. The hinge is amazing. When my mouth opens, the hinge wants to open the mouthpiece up, so it stays snug against the teeth. It's important to store it in the open position so it retains that springy hinge for as long as possible. I can tell when it's time to replace it by how it springs open when I open my mouth. The hinge is the part that wears out. As it comes from the manufacturer, it is uncomfortable for me. It rubs on the gums at the back of my lower teeth. To resolve this, I cut a little bit off (less than 1/8 inch) with small sharp scissors. Small price to pay for a good fit. Since it's not a boil and bite mouthpiece, it needs to be an almost universal fit. It might not fit you. I rinse mine in the morning, store it flat in the case, and use their cleaner and a tooth brush before putting it in my mouth at night. It might look cheap for the price, I do have to modify mine before I can use it, they do wear out, I replace mine about every 6 months. BUT, my snoring doesn't bother me or my wife now, and I can sleep on my back if I want to. I could never do that without gasping myself awake. I should also mention that it takes a while to get used to it. I think it took me 2-3 weeks before I was comfortable. Now it's part of my routine and I can't imagine sleeping without it! I wish I could give it more stars, it's priceless!

So I have changed my review and I took a star off because I'm a bit frustrated with this product because it works don't get me wrong but I don't feel like you're getting your money's worth because I've been using the one I have now I believe less than a month or maybe just about a month and it's not working nearly as well as when I first got it and I have noticed a very obvious difference in performance so I mean I recommend trying it at least once so you can get an idea of what you're dealing with and what you're looking for but you might want to keep looking after if you decide if this is something that you want for yourself or not I would not recommend buying a new one afterwards because it's not worth if I remember correctly $38 and then shipping and handling and so on so basically $40 roughly for something that breaks down so quickly it's just not worth it now if they fix the problem which is the durability around the hinges or if they somewhat modified the design to where it would stay functional longer then I would definitely say it's worth the money but the only way I see this thing working any longer than it has is if I myself find a way to modify it if! I'm able to so it's kind of a catch-22 it does work it did improve my sleep he does screw with your jaw a little bit but pulling your jaw back towards while your skull and stretching it out when you wake up fixes the problem pretty quick the downside is what you're getting is it worth buying a new mouthpiece every month or so for basically $40

I was a little skeptical of this device after reading reviews for this one and other similar items. The price is a little steep for what you get, but this is one of the lower priced brands. (Except cheap knock-offs which could have any number of safety hazards or chemicals.) I chose this brand in part because it seemed to be the most flexible, and had the most room for breathing. Being a bit of a cheapskate, I didn't want to order the full starter pack, so just tried the #1 size to see if it was even going to work. I have been using this for a little over a week, and have pleasantly surprised how well it is actually working. My husband says I have not snored since I started using it, which is a huge improvement, because I used to snore so loudly, I would keep him awake. (in fairness, his snoring used to keep me awake, too, until he got a cpap). I also don't have the sore throat I often woke up with before. I am no longer worried about sharing a motel room with my friends when we go on girls adventures. The downsides: It was a little hard to get used to the first couple of nights. It does make my teeth a little sore first thing after I remove it, because of the pressure on them all night, but that goes away pretty quickly. It is not unbearable by any means. By ordering the refill pack, I didn't get a storage case, but I can live with that for the lower price. Overall, I would say to give it a try if snoring is a problem in your life. I'm glad it did. Now, if I could only get the dog to quit waking me up, I'd be sleeping peacefully all night...

I got the custom 1 fit because I have a slight overbite. It was very painful and did not work. I know it says it takes some getting used to but the first night wearing it was so uncomfortable I could not sleep. I rubbed the inside of my lower gums so hard it caused a little bleeding and my mouth was very sore. I wore it through the day a few times as much as I could tolerate. I think a custom fit would be better because it's the exact shape of your mouth. I do not recommend.
