how wide is the belt?

what are the dimensions of this product? Max chest size?

This brace is 6" wide and had a circumference of 37" at rest. The sizing for this is universal and it goes up to 60".

Will putting this in the dryer ruin the brace?

I dont know for sure but my recommendation would be to hang dry. Anytime you have rubber, elastic, or spandex material you should keep away from high dryer heat.

Would i need to get the universal male, or the plus size, with a chest size of 58 inches?

Thank you for your question about the size. Both the mail and female sizes fit up to 60 inches while the Plus size is a 60 - 80 inch chest circumference. You are on the border with your measurement and could go either way. If you think you might like to have additional length so there is a double layer of wrap around the front of your torso, then order the Plus Size. If you think you may like a little less overlap, then you can order either the Male or Female Size since you fit into that size as well. The Female version of this brace has a curved cutout in the front of the wrap while the Male and Plus size are a 6 inch rectangle with no curved cutout. Really appreciated the support this brace gave, used daytime and at night. Will use again if necessary as it did give support and some pain relief. On the practical side too long ….difficult to wrap uniformly round chest….more suitable for men or flat chested women 🥴 some would find the velcro really hard to pull apart…it has as described very strong hold. Maybe the choice of medium and large sizing would make this item more suitable
