Why does this cost 7x what it's worth?

This is like asking why a laser-cut wooden sphere costs more than a woodchip.

Is it not as of 1/27/23 Copper is $4.22 a pound?

Yes it is. This is quite over priced. But also, you're paying for a refined bar of pure copper minted at a company and polished /stamped as an element and not scrap industrial copper alloy... and let's not forget shipping costs plus Amazon taking their cut. You're better off buying a 5lb copper bar directly from a forge/mint company. Prob run you about 50/60 dollars plus shipping, (about 12-13/lb ) but better than paying almost 30/lb

Is there a Certificate of Authenticity?

No there is Not. But I did take it to a jeweler and had it tested and it is Pure Copper.
