I'm fairly new to Yirgacheffe coffee, having tried it for the first time about a year ago. I've tried several of them and loved them but all of the ones I had bought so far were in the medium-dark roast range. I like to drink my coffee black and I really notice the differences in flavors between the different varieties when it's a medium roast and I just like the way medium roasts taste and smell. So I had been looking for a lighter roasted Yirgacheffe and decided to give these a try and I am very glad that I did. For my taste, these beans are roasted perfectly. The perfect darkish brown color that makes me drool. Talk about smooooth! I brewed it very strong the first time and no bitterness, just wonderful flavor, this stuff is going to be a joy to saw through. Such a delicious flavor and smell! And has a nice buzz, pleasant and kind, what could be described as a mildly euphoric experience for a coffee junky like me. This coffee is unique, a must try for any coffee lover and I highly recommend this seller. I order on May 2nd, bag says it was roasted on May 3rd, and it arrived at my home on May 6th. I weighed the coffee out the gram and it was a little over the stated 2lbs which is awesome. I have a Columbian source that is looking like will always be my favorite coffee in the world, but this stuff is pretty darn fantastic. So smooth, so delicious.

I've tried many brands and Smokin Beans is consistently the best. I usually get the Yirgecheffe or Harrar roasted 362, but have had others. Be sure to take the time to message them and specify the roast you want. Great coffee, roasted when you order, as light or dark as you want. Packaged well, resealable that is tight.

After trying about 9 of the highest rated coffees on Amazon, I decided to place an order with Smokin Beans. I've made several pots of their Yirgacheffe and realized I found the first coffee here that tastes like a high quality local coffee shop at reasonable prices. Their attention to detail is refreshing and the coffee had a really nice complex taste. They know how to roast and the beans seem high quality. Bravo!

I finally found a coffee roaster that sends awesome fresh roasted coffee 2 days after roasting at a reasonable price. They have a great variety and offer different roasts on order. This and Ethiopian Harrar are my favorites. My Ethiopian friend turned me on to the Harrar as that is her favorite and from the region where she lives. I should probably try some of the other varieties that they sell but I just love what we get and I hate to change. Maybe they will send me a few micro samples of some other types.

Love this one. Grind at 3.5 on my Moccamaster grinder for a full pot with 32g ground coffee. Less bitter. This one is my favorite blend.

Their Sidamo makes my toes curl light or med roast but my first time trying Yirgacheffe see what all the hype was about really was BOMB. The 2lb bag ran out way too fast so just ordered a 5lb bag. I've been on the hunt for true nutty buttery coffeehouse tasting fresh toasty beans spending hours on blogs/reviews never can find beans nutty as real kona the $100 stuff closest ive found was sidamo with a blueberry twist PERFECTTT but wow Smokin beans yirgacheffe in med roast is EXTRA!!!!!

Coffee roasted fresh upon order, and bloomed well. Tastes pretty good. Has almost a good balance between fruity and boldness, I just wished I knew that I could ask to have them roast the beans lighter prior to ordering. By default (medium-dark), it's a bit too dark for my taste but a lot better than most dark roast that are sold here which are overly done. I honestly couldn't really tell the Yirg-ness out of this, but good enough for me to consider buying it again sometimes, probably natural processed one. Method/recipe used: Chamex, Kalita 185. 16:1 ratio with 200* water.
