Easier instructions
These snaps are great but the instructions are not. Here is what you need to know. For each snap closure you will need two identical pieces that look like thumbtacks and one each of the male and female inserts. Don't worry about which, just have two that look different from each other. Use the little awl to poke a hole in your fabric and insert a "thumbtack'. Then choose a male end to insert over that point. Note that the flatter part of the insert goes against the fabric, then squeeze it with you fingers just enough to keep it together while you get the pliers. The flat part of the thumbtack goes against the black part of the pliers and male or female insert goes against the clear rubbery part . The little metal rod inside the clear part will smash and spread the point of the thumbtack and that is what locks it all together, so align it carefully and give it a good squeeze. Repeat with the other thumbtack and a "female" (or just different from the other one) insert and remember the the flatter side goes against the fabric. It takes me about 10 seconds now to attach one. If you don't squeeze hard enough the points will be in the way of the snap closing and it will also separate from your fabric easily. I supposed you could squeeze too hard and destroy the whole thing, but I am not that strong. I've already put these on a few bibs, going to use them on credit card wallets, tote bags, to hold my kitchen towels on the towel bar etc. They are a little cheap/plastic looking, but are fine for most applications. Hope this helps.

Great Kit!
When I took this out of the box I thought the pliers would be too weak to work but, to my surprise, they work great! I've used it 9 times so far and it worked perfect everytime. The color variations are very good, although a little atypical. I only wish there were two compartmemts of black and white since those will be used the most. But I knew what I was buying and will simply buy more black and white when I run out. The snaps themselves are pretty good. They haven't broken yet and have a good hold, buy not too hard of a hold that the fabric threatens to hear when pulling apart the snaps (stronger snaps are not always a good thing). The pliers are very easy to use. I just wish the mouth of the pliers had a little more space so I didn't have to scrunch up the fabric to reach more than an inch from the edge. The kit came with a replacement shank, different size bases, and extra clear rubber peices, which is great, except there are no instructions on how to inter change them...Overall, I recommend this kit and am happy with my purchase!

I covered my own grovia hybrids for way less$$$
This has been so great to have. I've got about 6 grovia Velcro hybrid covers that were getting worn and coming undone easily. They will convert your covers to snaps for you for $5 each after you mail them to them. I considered the cost and decided to give this a go. I used one of my other grovia snap covers to mark snap placement, used the included awl to pop holes and applied snaps. A couple have near exact matching color snaps to the rise snaps and others we choose to have fun and match his green cover with bright yellow snaps and call it his John Deere diaper. Either way, it's worked out great. No more laundry snakes, no snags and no loose diapers. They do for a little different that original snap covers only because the loop side of the Velcro starts in place so it's a bit more rigid than it it we're just the pul like the original covers have but it's certainly not a deal breaker. I've used these snaps to make straps to hold toys and sippy cups from getting dropped out of strollers and car seats. I've added snaps to costs missing buttons, even boxers. Get creative and you can easily find places to use these fun snaps.

Really like this product!
I’ve been sewing for a while now and wanted to experiment with adding buttons to projects! I read reviews thought I might try this set up out, since it was cheaper for all of this than Joann’s (Joann’s did not include all the buttons and the case). This was shipped all the way to Alaska and had some buttons intermixed (kind of expected that) and one of the separators broke, which I was able to flip over and still use! Also found a button that the pike was broken off, so I won’t be able to use it, but 1 out 360 is pretty good odds. Used on an envelope pillowcase I sewed to prevent the actual pillow from peeking through and it was fairly easy to use! The instructions weren’t really that helpful, but I was able to figure it out and I’m super excited to start using these!!

Easy and fun to use.
This is a great kit for crafting or sewing projects. This is actually a first snap kit for me as I have been wanting one. A friend of mine has a similar one and uses it to make cute bibs, and shirts for her daughter. So far, I have been having fun experimenting with this kit.I have played around with it on some Christmas material to make a pacifier holder for my niece. It took me a couple of try's but I final got the hang of how to properly use it and now I am in love with this plastic button kit. The pliers are of great quality as they are durable and well made. There is a large variety of color snap buttons( 24 to be exact ) to choose from for all kinds of projects. Provided is a screwdriver, replacement press button heads, base, awl, storage container, and a press button helper. The pliers are easy to use and applying a snap is fairly easy, not tuff at all. Once you get the hang of it, you will have so much fun, you will be finding things to add a plastic snap too.Overall, this is a great set and the asking price is fair too. I am happy with this kit.

Quality snaps
I bought this item years ago and have been extremely happy with the assortment and the quality. I made bibs for my granddaughter 5 years ago and when the bibs were pulled out for the 3rd baby the snaps worked the same as the day I made the bibs.
