Boss Office Products Posture Task Chair Without Arms in Black, Low-Back (B305)

3-29-14 Had to add to my comment. Have had this chair now about 2 years and can't say enough good about it. It still looks as if it was new even though I use it constantly. Maintains its position so I don't have to adjust height, upholstery still looks like new, rollers work smoothly, and it is comfortable. You won't go wrong purchasing this chair. Another terrific Amazon purchase!!! 6-28-13 I have had this chair for almost a year now and use it every day, sitting in it for 6 to 12 hours a day (I am retired and do everything over the computer including games). It looks like it is still new. It is so comfortable to sit in and the height maintains it position so you don't have to continually adjust it, the rollers still work smooth, and there are no cracks or wear marks in the upholstery. I can't say enough good about this chair. I worked in an offices for 40 years and would have never believed a typing chair could be this comfortable and retain its new look. You won't go wrong purchasing this chair. Dec. 5, 2012 Update I use my chair every day and usually for hours. I have had no problems with it. It is still comfortable, rollers roll smoothly, holds its height (doesn't slip down). Upholstery maintaining its appearance with no cracks or wear spots. I couldn't be more satisfied. Would buy the chair again with no hesitation and highly recommend it. Sept. 11, 2012 Update Have now used this chair every day for a month and love it. Comfortable to sit on (being retired I use my computer for hours each day), rolls easily (on carpet), upholstery has leathery feel, and is a nice size. Would definitely buy it again and highly recommend it. 8-11-12 This is a fantastic chair. I am a 75 year old woman. I opened the carton, assembled the chair and was sitting on it in less than one hour!!!! If I can do it by myself in less than an hour, anyone can do it. Three Hints: 1) you will need a decent sized Phillips screwdriver. The one I used is 8" long and fit the screws perfectly. 2) you may not need the top piece of the cone (the smallest piece). In my case the seat would not fit so I took the top small cone off and the seat fit perfectly. 3) The lever to raise and lower the seat has to be on the RIGHT hand side as you are sitting on the chair. The website has an visual that literally shows you how to assemble as well as written instructions, and a very good diagram of how to assemble the chair. One is animated and literally shows the chair being assembled. The upholstery on the chair (LeatherPlus) is very rich looking and nice to the touch, and the seat and back are padded. This chair could easily be at a desk in your living room or office and look very nice. I highly recommend this chair and would definitely buy it again.

Very sturdy and comfortable!

This leather adjustable task chair is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat on. Was like sitting on cloud. Purchased chair for my teenage daughter who loves it so much for online classes!! Easy to put together, maybe a few steps and that was all!!

I bought this chair to use at my sewing/embroidery tables. I needed a chair that I could adjust the height on easily and wheel along smoothly as I moved between my different machines. It was well packaged, easy to put together and surprisingly sturdy and comfortable. The wheels roll easily over my carpeting and I can raise or lower seat height with a simple pull on the lever underneath the seat. At first I didn't think the seat post would stay firmly seated in the base as there were no attachment brackets, pins, bolts, screws or threaded and collared posts. The instructions said to simply insert the post into the base. I was worried the two pieces would separate easily. Boy was I wrong! Just make sure you follow the directions carefully and put the post covers on in the right order because pulling the post out of the base once you've inserted it can be a real challenge. I chose the model with no arms as chairs with arms don't work well when working at a sewing table. The back rest gave me great lower back support and adjusts to fit your back. Definitely a quality item for a very low price. For a basic office styled chair that won't empty your wallet, this one is definitely a great buy.

**Update 1/21/2021** Boss Customer Service responded to my request for a replacement part, but they mailed it in a box that was too small so they cut a hole in it. Sigh. Part was damaged on arrival. 1 point for being responsive to my emails; minus 2 points for execution. While this is does not change my opinion of the chair, it does effect my judgement of Boss' Customer Service and future purchases from Boss. **Initial Review** Purchased in September 2020, I have been very satisfied with the chair. Easy to assemble and comfortable. I have been using the chair in my home office while working from home. Within the past few weeks, the chair has started to unexpectedly sink, and it appears that the Gas Lift (part TU026-305-Gas Lift) is failing. This part allows the user to raise and lower the chair. I believe that a well-made product should last more than three months. I have reached out to Boss Office customer service to see if they will be able to send me a replacement part. I'm hoping that Boss will assist me in fixing this situation as I would love to recommend this chair to colleagues and friends, if I can get this issue resolved.

UPDATE: After using this chair for over 6 months, I would probably select the cloth material next time. If your office tends to be cold, the pleather will remain cold. I notice every time I sit down how cold the chair is. The feel of the pleather is nice to the touch, though, and the chair is holding up very nicely. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have been on the lookout for a chair that works for me ever since the work-from-home stuff started in 2020. I have been cycling through chairs I own as old as 2006, 2011, 2012 and then a few I bought in recent years. None worked long term. My posture would suffer, and I would suffer. THIS CHAIR on Amazon for less than 100 dollars is finally an all-day-comfortable chair for me. I got the pleather one with no arm rests. It goes high enough I can actually sit above my table and reach down to my keyboard. The backrest is thick and supportive and tall enough and tilts just right to line up with my natural position. The chair cushion itself is supportive but comfortable. I do not even notice I have been sitting anymore, which is amazing. Now, it did require sitting for a few hours before I got used to it, but I love this chair. Final thought: the pleather is on the slicker side instead of sticky. I do not slip from the seat, but if you want more traction, you might consider the cloth version of this chair. For reference, I am 6 feet tall, about 170 pounds.

I ordered two of these for light home use by my teenagers based upon other reviews. The boxes arrived quickly and packaging was sufficient. Assembly for each chair took no more than ten minutes. Instructions included unnecessary steps, as stated by other reviewers, and I saved time by not disassembling the cushions or removing arm hardware since no arms are included. Basically, push on the casters, insert the riser into the base by pushing gently, then remove four screws and place the metal bracket against the underside of the seat. Re-install those four screws, then slide in the backrest and tighten the knob for it. Very easy, only tools necessary was a screwdriver (either slot or phillips will work). The chair is firm, which I think is a bonus since it seems the cushion won't likely break down easily. Swivels easily and height adjustment works like a model that costs hundreds more. I didn't notice any unpleasant odors that others mentioned. I recommend this model for students or, as the instructions say, adults under 250 lbs.

I love it. This chair is very comfortable to sit on. which is important because I have back problems.

Nice chair

Its a pretty good chair, and excellent for the price I paid. I had another Boss chair which has a very sharp transition of the seat cushion which hurts your legs however this one has a rolled edge and so feels just fine

This chair was very easy to assemble, is sturdy and looks nice. However, it becomes crazy uncomfortable after just a few minutes. The seat is pretty stiff, but still ok. The problem is the backrest which feels like a square slightly padded piece of wood. It has no shape (and little padding) to conform to your back. Plus, it is not adjustable in height. Seriously, do not buy this chair, you'd regret it.

It's too high and doesn't lower enough for my desktop. The leather is very hard, not too comfortable.
