New "spicy" Herbamare nothing like Trocomare
I have used the Trocomare for over 30 years. The Herbamare is great, a bit more towards a milder, more blend flavor and the Trocomare the more vibrant variation but not spicy, just with a full flavor body, both being made with organic herbs. Of course, as I see so often these days companies take a totally perfected product that works and decide to re-design it and "improve" it, in the process destroying it.This is exactly what happened here. Gone is the balanced and complex flavor. Instead, the bouquet of flavors is much reduced and the worst part is that there is some cayenne or whatever spicy thing in, which is horrible, overpowering much like a very high pitch note in a harmonious symphony, something that doesn't belong there.I don't have enough words to describe how sad and disappointed I am in this. Why not keep the older one and come up with this new horrible one in addition to the older one, why replace something that was excellent? Broaden the portfolio, not reduce it.Being Romanian-American I am very fond of lovage (leustean) which is also found in Herbes de Provence. It is the lovage that gives this mixture of herbs that very vibrant and complex flavor. I have the feeling it has been greatly reduced in this new mixture.Anyway, sad, sad, sad.

I like spicy, but this is just salt and hot ...
I was looking for something similar to trocomare. This was not it. It has a bunch of hot pepper in it that itches at your throat when you use it. I like spicy, but this is just salt and hot pepper...

Easy way to add heat, but not much flavor other than that.
If you want to add spicy heat to food without adding the taste of chilli peppers this is great. However the heat is strong enough I don't really taste any of the herbs. I like spicy food and being able to just add heat to something so for me it's 4 stars, but as a seasoning I'd give it 3. Definitely pair this with another rub or blend if you want to flavor your food.

Good sub for the recently hard to find Trocomare. Very tasty
We usually use trocomare and for some reason NO ONE seems to have this in stock! What's going on? So, we ordered the green herbamare and it's just not tasty enough for me, it's very mild. Luckily we found this "zesty" herbamare and it's really good. It's pretty darn close to the Trocomare as far as I can tell, maybe a smidge spicier, (flavor spicy, not in any way heat spicy). Here's hoping this one stays on the market and hopefully ends up offered as a prime product.

It's very salty....sorry, that's kinda sums it up
I think I expected more herb, less salt, and that would be wrong. It's very easy to oversalt. I'm surmising that it's really good stuff. Riiiight? I did sense herbs, but the power of the salt hits first. Yeah, I still like having it on the shelf.
