About a year lifespan
I've been using this particular Norelco wet/dry model for a few years now and I've never had a closer shave. I've had other shavers over the years, Braun and two different Panasonics. The Braun model I had couldn't be used in the shower, but often times the shave felt uneven and my skin felt coarse afterwards. The Panasonic was a wet/dry model but it tugged at my skin a lot. I may have purchased models that didn't match up with my facial hair profile or something but once I purchased the Norelco, it's been a pleasant experience. I typically shave about every two days which I've found to be the sweet spot for me. Albeit the Norelco does have a high price point and comes with a rather chunky base, so if your bathroom counter space is in short supply just a heads up on that. It's really to hold the cleaning cartridge if anything, which can ordered in a 3-pack for about $20. It's the shave heads that can get you though, mine typically last about a year before the change indicator lights up on the shaver. The heads come in a set of three and the change tool is included, like I said, I get about a years worth of shaves out of mine but your mileage may vary depending on how often you're shaving. All in all, a good product, my shaves are very smooth and there's no tugging of the skin. My hair is short and curly and the shaver manages with no problems. I use Harry's shaving cream but I also use a sugar scrub on my face and rinse with hot water before applying the shaving cream, once I finish the shave and step out of the shower, I immediately splash my face with cold water. Since using those steps, I've noticed my skin isn't as bumpy or irritated.

Works as Expected, Design Seems to Have Evolved Over Time
These SH90/62 heads (successor to the SH90/52 heads) are for various 9000 series Norelco shavers, and some 8000 series, including my 8900 series (S8950/90). But it seems that the design or manufacturing for the SH90/62 has also continued to evolve over time under the same model number, but did change UPC code and packaging slightly. I show in pictures the two versions I received. Honestly, the replacements work fine and I don't see a difference. My S8950/90 shaver actually came with SH90/62 heads to start with. Perhaps they revised them to address some peoples' issues with the SH90/62 version replacing the SH90/52 version for who claimed that the SH90/62 is not as good as the original that came with their shaver, perhaps for their particular face. But I can only say that for me these are the replacements that I expect. I actually bought 12 of these because they have been hard to find from the most trustworthy sources (shipped and sold by Amazon or from major retailers), and they can be pricey so I pounced on a sale. Then I can replace more often if I want to (6-year supply if twice as often). They claim 12-month replacement cycles on the box, but a lot of people had reported 6-months. I am currently going on 9-months for my last replacement and not yet finding myself pressing extra hard to make it work, so at this rate I might make it to 12 months. I also use the automated cleaning system weekly when it charges, which seems to help versus my last shaver. I still take at least 2 minutes shaving, and wish there was a faster way. But I find the Norelco to be easier to maintain and keep clean over time.

Order from Amazon, not vendor
Hi, I am writing this review to hopefully be helpful to someone looking to purchase some authentic Philips Norelco shaver heads. The main compaint I see in other reviews is that they ordered these from a vendor other than Amazon and got a knock-off, fake product. I took a chance and ordered these directly from Amazon, not a vendor. Yes, you will pay full retail, but I am fairly sure I got a genuine product and that you will too. I gave four stars because these new, upgraded blades shave a little differently than the original blades. They seem to take longer to knock down my stubble, but on the plus side they don't give me a rash with ingrown hairs on my neck. YMMV. Like I said, I am fairly positive I got the genuine thing, though. I looked at the blades and they do have the "v" shaped cutting heads of the real deal. Also, they fit in my razor (S9311/84) perfectly. Hope this helps someone get the genuine deal, like I said, direct from Amazon.

Nice improvement over the original blades!
I purchase my 9000 series razor last May, and a couple of weeks ago it "beeped" at me at the end of my shave to let me know it was razor change time. After checking here for prices, I saw a "newer" version of the blades for 10 dollars more and was curious if they were any better. I use my razor most every day or every other (wet with shaving cream), and am very familiar with how it cuts. The last couple of months, it took about 2-3 mins worth of shaving; while never uncomfortable, I could always feel/hear it if it was cutting whiskers, as opposed to running over a smooth area. The only weaknesses, maybe, were shaving under the chin and neck/throat area and perhaps "pulling" a little on growth older than a couple of days. I ordered these new blades and gave them a whirl; as I ran them over my cheeks, I didn't feel anything...like they were just gliding over and doing nothing. I checked my skin...perfectly smooth. This was on 2-day growth, where normally I would feel some pulling, but these new blades just floated through the whiskers. Under the chin still requires more attention, but my total shaving time was easily 1/2 the normal time, if not a little less. I hadn't really felt that my old blades had changed much from when I purchased the razor, but I can definitely say that the "new" version of the blades gives a quicker, effortless shave that is improved on the previous style (which were actually very good). If you're on the fence about spending 10 more dollars over the already outrageous 50 dollars, my advice is to do it...you'll have a better shave than ever from a very nice razor. Note: I did see a few folks complain about having trouble getting the new blades installed; a tool came with the razor originally, but my set of new blades also included the tool as well. Piece of cake if you use the tool, took 30s to remove old ones, one minute to clean the frame of shaving cream gunk, and 30s to install the new blades

Philips Norelco Replacement Shaver Head for Series 9000, SH90/62
I purchased new Philips blades almost two years ago on sale from Amazon. I recently tried to use the new blades and found that they were very dull and would hardly cut my facial hair. I tried my wife's Norelco razor which had been used to cut the hair on her legs many times and her razor cut may facial hair very well. I have been using Norelco razors for over 40 years and never had this problem with dull replacement blades. I contacted Philips and they told me that that my model blade was discontinued which is why it may feel dull as it was not by Philips (even though the heads come in an Original box with the Philips name). Philips sent me new model replacement heads compatible with my shaver as a one time courtesy and free of charge. It is very rare for a company in this day and age to do the right thing. As with many companies, there chat system was not usable. I tried it 5 times. I typed the concern in a box and pressed the arrow and the same box came up with a blank to fill in again. I finally found their Email address. After that, everything went sooth. The Emails were answered in a very timely manner.

Very poor quality blades
I received these blades in a Norelco box. Pulled 5 - 6 year old blades out of the shaver and replaced with the new ones looking forward to a much better close shave. The blades that came out of the box felt cheap and lighter than the old ones were that were in the shaver. The replacements don’t shave any where near as well as the old ones and require much more time attempting to shave and leave visible facial hair growth as well as to touch. Very inferior blades

these are the blades / shaver head you want for Arcitec models!
I have an older Norelco Arcitec 1050 shaver which originally used an RQ12 replacement head. At some point years ago Norelco discontinued that model and recommended the RQ12+. I was never happy with that shaver head but I kept using it. It never gave a really close shave and had a habit of pulling hairs. It was painful at times. I recently took the blades apart and I found long hairs stuck under/inside the blades (they should have been finely chopped up if the head worked correctly. Anyway as I came on Amazon to look for another replacement set I came across these SH90/62 replacement heads. These heads fit inside the frame of the RQ12+. The SH90/62 blades are great and this shaver is back to what I was originally getting with the RQ12 head (as far as I remember). I get a close shave even when starting with a 2-3 day old beard, not much irritation. As of the time of this review, these blades are more expensive then the RQ12+ whole head assembly, but in my opinion it is well worth the extra cost.

Close shave
Pain in the butt to get new blades installed correctly, but like a brand new shaver. Smooth and close shave.

Great shave
Worth the price difference, returned my shaver to original quality shaving. Not worth buying cheap knockoffs as I had the unfortunate experience previously. Had not read the specks and manufacturer carefully on the Amazon description before buying what were knockoffs. Will always check the specs now in order to purchase original manufacture parts from now on.
