This is an actual knife sharpener
Took me a long while to understand how to use this properly but now that I am getting the hang of it, I am in love. This will sharpen your knives beyond what you previously thought possible if you are anything like me and have been limping by with some dull ass knives in your kitchen.

Looks different than pictures
One of the reason I bought this stone over others I had my eye on was the way it looks. It was also a decent size as well. However you’ll just get a random color with the same grit. Too much of a hassle to return just for that reason. Now that I’ve used it, I’d still consider this a beginner stone. They do have great customer service, so I added a star.

This is a really great home whetstone for professionals, at a great price.
This is an amazing 2-sided home water stone for a professional sushi chef. You do not use oil for this stone, you soak it in water for a bit before using it, and then add water as needed while sharpening. I retired from making sushi in 2017, so I haven't sharpened my carbon-steel yagangi since then. I ordered this for a home sushi party and my knife is razor sharp. I'm very pleased to finally have a stone for the home. This does not come with clear instructions, so you need to have knowledge of the product you are purchasing, either from experience or research. This is a water stone that requires no oil. Great product!
