Great ring overall and perfect fit. My biggest trouble is that I often neglect to look closely at the product photos. If I had, I would have seen that the amethyst is flat on the surface, and not beveled. The beveling is on the underside.

The amethyst cut is not as shown in the picture, its more flat. The gem is also inset deep into the ring, to the extent that the silver stands up over the gem significantly. The amethyst almost immediately came loose and it makes a jingling sound every time I move my right hand. Its still a silver and amethyst ring though, and the floral/curvy design looks neat so I'll keep it. Just beware its not exactly as shown in the product pictures.

The face of the stone is completely flat - it does NOT look like the picture, as it is not faceted on the face, as the picture would lead you to believe. The face of the stone also sits slightly below the level of the setting. The metal portion of the ring is beautiful, as pictured. It is a gift for my son, whose birthstone is amethyst and who loves the color purple. I think he will like it and will wear it, as he is 12 years old and may not notice that there are no facets in the face of the stone. However, I was personally disappointed when I opened the box and saw the stone.

The ring was sized right however the picture depicts a multi faceted stone and mine arrived smooth and flush with the setting. The setting is also a little tall and is a small snag hazard.Other than the stone and setting the design of the ring is nice. It also wears comfortably. I should have sent back but will keep and melt down to use on something else.

The ring itself is as advertised. The problem is the size. It was two full sizes smaller than ordered. I bought this as a gift and was very disappointed and unable to return it due to the amount of time lapsed. I spent an additional $ 55.00 dollars to have the ring sized and had to wait for a week to get it back.

Ring does not look like the picture...stone is flat and not faceted...the delivery time frame was good may return it, not sure yet

Really nice ring, only complaint I had was that one of the little fingers that hold the amethyst in wasn't pushed down all the way and I ended up with a slight abrasion where it was rubbing on my finger after a day of wearing it. But that was easily fixed by pressing it down with the back of a pen.
