A customer review indicated the product contains a small amount of lead, but this isn't on the ingredients list. Is there lead in the product?

Thank you for your question. We can assure you we do not add lead to any of our products. Lead is an element that exists in nature. It is found in varying degrees across the globe. Lead is widely distributed in the environment and may be found naturally in the earth, soil, and water as a result of geologic deposits of lead. Plants grown in soils containing lead can uptake lead into parts of the plants. The State of California has a law called Proposition 65 (also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986), which requires the state to publish and maintain a list of 800+ chemicals, including heavy metals, known to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm. Prop 65 also requires businesses to notify Californians about the presence of these chemicals in their products if the chemicals exceed certain levels. All of our herbs and products test well within the internationally accepted safety standards for dietary supplements (ANSI 173).

What’s the best time of the day for taking this?

With many of the herbs and formulas we carry, it is far more important to pick a time that is convenient for you than to be overly concerned about precisely when to take them. We encourage you to experiment to find the time that works best for you: Ayurveda honors the uniqueness in each of us, and while one time may work for one person, a different time may work better for another. If you are under the care of a practitioner, follow their recommendation.

Why is Sharpunkha lacking in the formula?

Shardunika (Gymnema sylvestre) is renowned for its use in promoting healthy blood glucose levels and supporting the proper function of the pancreas. The herbs used in our Liver Formula are more supportive of the Liver.

What is the expiry date of the product as I am interested in ordering several bottles at one time. Thank you.

There is no expiry date on this product.  Since these herbs are in powder pressed form.  I haven't had a problem but it has never stayed in my pantry longer than 6 months.
