Installation tips to keep you COOL!
When I put in my new grill gazebo I did not realize that its aluminum roof would gather heat during the day, making the inside pretty warm. I started researching outdoor fans and the iLiving was the best I found, either at the big box improvement stores, or online. This fan is terrific. I got the 14" and all three speeds are useful. The strongest is such a strong blast I normally use the middle setting. It comes with a long pull chain that is easily snipped to the size that works best for you. Let me answer some questions you may have: How long is the power cord? Six feet so you may need an extension like I did. For the best match, be sure you get a three plug round black cable in typical 14 gauge. I really like the inexpensive one from Woods also available on Amazon. It's a perfect match. Be sure you get an extension cord for outdoor use. What hardware is included? / How to attach the fan? There are two holes on the steel bracket that comes attached to the back of the fan. It's easy to install. I bought some nuts and bolts on my own that best fit the metal frame I was attaching it to. One hole is larger than the other so two different sizes are needed. Two healthy sized wood screws are included but I needed a nut and bolt for my use attaching to metal. Does it swivel? Yes, you decide if you prefer side to side or front to back. Because I needed to orient the included bracket horizontally, it swivels front to back for my use, or perpendicular to the bracket. (See my picture with fan attached to gazebo side.) if you need it to swivel in all directions, depending on your available space for hardware, you will need to pick up an additional bracket such as an L bracket. Is it noisy? Just the sound of the wind it makes! Really well built, solid and no rattles. Can it work on a timer? Absolutely! That's how I use mine, plugged into a pool/spa type of timer that lets you choice hours you wish it to be running. It also works fine with newer smart timers that work of phone APPs, etc.

Cooling off
Update: I e had them approx 3 weeks now. They have been adjusted several times to blow at a certain direction but they won’t stay. They won’t stay up, they are noisy (industrial sounding) and they won’t stay in the direction I adjusted them to blow. Somewhat disappointed. If you get for your patio area, just know they are loud and won’t stay where they were put.. not sure I’d recommend. They are strong and put out good air flow. I purchased two for my patio and they were both mounted on support beams. Perfect placing for a cooler situation. They are a little noisy but not bothersome. I will get electricity to my patio next week so plugs aren’t hanging. Would recommend this fan especially if you are not able to mount a ceiling fan.

Buy this fan!
I have two of these 14" fans on my small deck (10x12) and they are excellent. I have had them for about 3 years. They are not under a roof and so are exposed to the elements during the warmer months although I do have covers for them in the colder seasons. They are powerful and move lots of air for their size and I am able to get a lot of circulation keeping my deck much more pleasant in the Alabama summer. It definitely helps with cooling but also keeping bugs away. I have one mounted so that it can also blow directly on me when I am grilling and I love the tilting feature. Because the are mounted from above I can also rotate them to blow to different areas of the deck. They are also not very noisy except on the highest speed and even then you can still talk over them or hear music u might have playing.

Do it yourself installation because the instructions are not very helpful.
I just bought this and installed it. Looks good and looks solid. So far it operates as expected. My complaint is with the installation instructions. I am fairly handy and can figure things out, but I do not expect to have to figure anything out when instructions are supplied. These instructions are lacking to say the least. Warning - if you do not have some experience in mounting such things as this then you might want to hire it out. I read the directions repeatedly while doing the install and it took me longer than it should have - because of the skimpy instructions. One other thing - they supplied a wrench (they called it a spanner) which served no purpose whatsoever since it fit nothing.

Excellent fan!
This is one impressive and well built fan! They are heavy so either get help or attach it to a rope and make a sort of pulley to hold it up while you screw in the bolt. Even on the lowest speed it is effective. I bought 3 more for our pavilion.

Zero Airflow 3 Feet From Fan
There are no pros regarding this fan. From the start, the mounting bracket provided no provision to keep the fan support from rotating on the mounting bracket. It hangs from a single hook in the middle, allowing the fan to pivot like a single hook picture frame would. This is in spite of the fact the mounting bracket has two screw holes far enough apart that they can't both catch a stud (my previous fan had three mounting screws laid out so they all had purchase in solid wood), necessitating the purchase and installation of a drywall anchor. The fan support is made of super lightweight metal that feels extremely inadequate to support the heavy fan motor and cage. When I mounted the fan, the bolt that holds it to the fan support arm had to be tightened way more than I felt comfortable with to keep the fan from sagging; I fully expected the plastic part of the fan motor that sits in the support arm to snap before it held its position. Instructions were awful and I had to remove the back cage and rotate it 90 degrees before the front cage would align properly using the hook on the top and the screw on the bottom. Once that was aligned properly, I found the hook on the front cage was too skinny to fit over the frame of the back cage and enjoyed fighting with it for several minutes before I finally got it on far enough that I could stretch the cage down to get the bottom screw in. I fired the fan up to find there was essentially zero airflow once I was more than 3 feet from the fan; see my video showing the plastic sheet hanging limp three feet from the front of the fan on high. And no, the blade was not on backwards, as you can see in the video, placing the bag behind the fan does result in it being sucked against the cage. The lousy mounting equipment would make this a 3-star fan but the fact that it doesn't blow air makes it absolutely worthless. My old 16" fan cost 1/3 the amount, installed in 1/4 the time, and could be felt on the far side of my two-car garage. And here I thought I was upgrading with a bigger fan!

Buy This Fan!
10/10 5 stars We live in FL. As you know, it's not only hot as all hell, but the humidity for MONTHS is a billion %. We had a plastic outdoor fan and it worked good until it didn't. The oscillating feature quit after 3 months of use. We invested in this fan. It took about 12 minutes to put it together, including hanging it. Let me tell you that we may not ever use this fan on high lol on low/oscillate this fan moves ALL the air. It isn't a quiet blower and is an outside fan, so if you want quiet this fan might not be the fan for you However, if you want to ensure a lot of air is moving in your outside area, this fan is definitely worth the purchase. For reference our covered porch is 11'x11'. Everyone can feel the air, regardless of where you sit!

Well built fan
I use this fan to ventilate our covered BBQ area. Very happy with the purchase. Extremely quiet on low speed, and only a little louder (but very powerful) on high. Clearly a very well built commercial quality fan.

Quiet and easy to install outdoors
High quality - outdoor use was easy to install. Quiet operation and works great with the optional mister. Completely changed my outdoor space in hot weather whether the awning is out or not.
