Shark HyperAIR Ionic Dryer, Rotatable Brush, Auto Presets, Stone, HD112BRN

Before the Shark blow dryer (which my very good friend/professional stylist recommended to me) I had the BabyLiss with the Ferrari engine. But until this new dryer, I’ve still always had to towel/air dry my hair for a good 45 minutes to an hour before I could use my blow dryer. Then, it would STILL take about 45 minutes of drying, 20 minutes of flat ironing, etc. I have EXTREMELY thick hair, and a LOT of it. So washing, drying, and straightening used to take my stylist about two hours...myself, three. I’d always wait after getting out of the shower not only to save myself time and blow dry less, but also because if I dried my hair immediately after washing it, it would be insanely frizzy and get heat damage. Well, I took a chance with the Shark and dried my hair for the first time in years immediately upon getting out of the shower, while it was still soaking wet. It was absolutely amazing. Not only was it dry within 10-15 min TOPS, there was very minimal frizz, virtually no heat damage. I didn’t even try to use the built in diffuser/straightener nozzle and it turned out looking like I’d flat ironed it anyway! I still did briefly go over it with the flat iron, but wow...this dryer is seriously a lifesaver with the amount of time it now saves me! And I never expected it to look nearly perfectly straight without an iron (since my hair is like a mix of straight/wavy). I have no complaints at all. I’ve seen people complain about it being heavy, but it’s only what, 3.5 lbs? I think only half a pound heavier than my last dryer. I’m like 5’5 and 100 lbs too, so it’s not exactly like I have toned or muscular arms, lol. Also, if you’re only using it for ten minutes, does it really matter if it’s slightly heavier than your last one? My recommendation, especially if you have a TON of REALLY THICK hair like me, have always dreaded showering because drying and styling it takes SO much time, is to buy this dryer NOW. It may not be worth it if you have finer hair and not an obscene amount of it... I mean, my mother and sister can blow dry their hair in ten minutes with any dryer, straight out of the shower. I got my dad’s hair, however, and it’s like the equivalent of having a shrub on my head, lol. This is the first hairdryer that has given me such a huge sense of relief, in that I will no longer need to set aside hours for myself to shower and dry my hair (sorry to go on and on, I really am just that happy!).

Review is long overdue. I bought this dryer in Dec 2023 after dropping and breaking my beloved Babyliss Pro and I've really been enjoying it. My medium length (at my shoulder blades) straight hair is problematic in that it's baby fine but dense, tangles in an instant, frizzes if you look at it funny and refuses to hold a style or retain volume for more than 10 min but this dryer can handle it all. It takes less than 5 min to fully dry my wet, not damp, hair; the concentrator attachment tames frizz and prevent knots; the brush attachment allows me to create volume and temp settings set the style. My hair is sleek and shiny with volume at the roots for much longer than my previous dryer. Some reviews have said it's too heavy and/or too loud but it's a similar weight to my previous pro ceramic type dryer and while a little louder than expected, it's nothing major. My only issues were that it's bigger than my other dryer, with a much longer handle, so it took a few uses to get comfortable with it (my hands are small) and it doesn't come with a storage box or bag so I had to find one large enough for the dryer and attachments. Those minor issues aside, I still give this dryer 5 stars and highly recommend it. Those used to a pro dryer will enjoy it and anyone using a traditional Conair or Revlon type will be blown away by the difference...sorry for the pun!

Upon receiving this item I really liked it. But in less than three months it stopped working entirely. Shuts off after 60 seconds. First off, upon using it I did really like it but had some issues. Great drying power and attachments. I did really wish it had a round brush (like the dyson) to smooth and blow dry by curly hair straight. The brush that came with it is very awkward and bulky to use (not round but angled brush) and didn't work for me at all. I went back to my $40 hair dryer with the round brush. Though I absolutely LOVED the Airwave attachment for this. Yes, it's completely bulky and makes it a bit hard to use but I got great results for adding beautiful curls to my hair. Got many compliments. The best product yet. So, though I wasn't using this as a hair dryer (wished it had the round brush) I was using it two months until it seemed it wasn't working so well. Initially I got great results with the Airwave attachment it seemed the curls were not as good after only 2 months. I thought it was me, my technique or my hair product but then I realized it just wasn't as powerful as day 1. So, after only two months it wasn't working well. Then it stopped working entirely in less than three months! It would turn on but only stay on for a minute or two and shut off. I was so disappointed after spending about $250 (!) on this and the Airwave attachment. So, sending it back! Maybe I just got a bad one but since I can't use it for blow drying (no round brush attachment, included brush is awkward, bulky and didn't work for me) I don't want to have this just as a curler. It's too expensive and very bulky. Bad job Shark. Please look at the dyson attachments (round brush) to blow dry straight curly hair. And your quality needs to improve so this lasts for a couple of years.

I don't normally write reviews but this is definitely worth the time. I didn't think my curls could look so good! I got this set and bought the diffuser separately in case I wanted to give up and straighten my hair again cuz going back to natural curls is driving me nuts. But the dry time was cut in half and my hair feels much softer. My hair isn't out of control or frizzy. It's a bit noisy but all blow dryers are, it's not any louder than any other dryer. The heat settings are different, the lowest setting is almost the same as the highest on the cheaper ones. The speed setting is about the same as most dryers. The cool setting is truly a cool setting and great for getting the flyaways down! I got mine as open box and it's perfect. Not sure why they blacked out simple things like the name of the dryer or the QR code for "styling tips" but you do not get a warranty with an open box/refurbished so just an FYI. It's worth the buy tho, when this one gives out on me I'll definitely buy another one. Great find!

As someone with naturally long, straight hair, I've always been hesitant to use hair dryers. The fear of heat damage was a constant concern. However, a friend who often battles frizziness highly recommended the Shark HD112BRN HyperAIR Ionic Hair Dryer. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. What surprised me most about this hairdryer is its ability to style my very long, straight hair. I didn't expect a hairdryer to have the power to do much on my hair, but this one proves me wrong. The Shark HD112BRN is a fantastic choice, and I'm spreading the word to anyone who asks.

Just as I hit the 11 month mark I began to get the overheating error. The blow dryer would stay on for just over a minute before failing. No amount of cleaning the blow dryer seemed to help. The fan felt like it was barely pushing out air. Got on the phone with customer support and 15 minutes later and $25 in shipping I have a replacement on the way. It's a great blow dryer when it works! I'm just worried about the longevity going forward. //////// Update: /////// I've had my replacement Shark for 4 months, I've cleaned it after every single use following the steps in the Shark YT video and this one is beginning to fail as well. The issue is incompetent design on the filter which can not be removed or repalced. I've even attempted the filter deep clean (Another official Shark YT tutorial) and that did not help either. I believe I'm still in warranty but at this point I'm done. I just bit the bullet and ordered a Dyson. Shark as a brand has been soured for me. I'm pretty frustrated that the cheap $40 fake Dyson look alike I had years ago outlasted a $220 Shark.

I purchased this hair dryer for my wife. She loves how light weight it is. She also says it’s very compact. She has told me on many occasions the hairdryer drys very well without burning up her hair. This hairdryer is used on a daily basis. Roughly 6 months after buying the hairdryer, something caused the hairdryer to turn off after two minutes of use. I called Shark warranty services and they walked me through troubleshooting which didn’t work. They immediately apologized for the situation and offered to replace the unit at no cost. Given the price of the hairdryer and the 5 year warranty it comes with, is a win win. They were extremely helpful and very courteous. We were told the new hairdryer would arrive in 3-5 days. The hairdryer arrived in 3 days. My wife has had zero issues with the replacement hairdryer. The fact they sent a brand new hairdryer at no cost and the outstanding customer service was worth the money. I would highly recommend the product and the company for their hairdryers and customer service. It’s very hard to find a company to stand behind their products these days. Good job to shark for getting it right.

I just want to start this review by saying this is a great hairdryer. I have no regrets about spending the money on this because it does a really great job at getting my hair fully dry in a short amount of time compared to my old hairdryer, and the attachments work really well too. BUT.... I had this unit for a month (literally - arrived on October 22nd, and broke on November 21st), and then one day I went to turn it on and.... nothing!! The power just didn't work anymore. I frantically went around to every outlet in my home and it didn't work in any of them. I called into the Shark warranty department and went through the troubleshooting with them (this required me getting on a video call with them, and showing them that the product didn't work when plugged into a few different outlets). After going through the troubleshooting, I was told they could send me a replacement unit, but only after I showed them on the video call that I had cut the cord on the product (easier said than done... this hairdryer has a really nice thick cord on it). He also said they usually charge $20.99 for shipping the new unit, but since I hadn't had my hairdryer for very long he waived it for me. I do have suspicions that Amazon sent me a hairdryer that had been previously used (or maybe refurbished?), as there were small scratches on one side of the unit (like from repeated picking up and putting down on a surface), but they were relativity minor and the unit was clean otherwise, so I decided to just ignore it since it would get scratched from me using it eventually. In hindsight I should have immediately returned it and requested a new one, as it might have been damaged before being sent to me, and it was only a matter of time before it would break for me. I have seen a couple of reviews from other people saying they also received units with scratches on it. I'm excited to get my replacement in the mail (I was told it would arrive in 3-10 business days)... hopefully I have better luck with the next one!

Tengo mucho tiempo usándola y si me ha gustado mucho. Si hace ruido pero no es mucho.

This is a splurge but I love it. A little heavy but I got used to it and like that the weight is well distributed. Love the attachments too.

Seca el cabello rápido, sin frizz y sin maltratarlo, yo la utilizo principalmente para el cabello chino con un difusor de la marca que compré aparte y es altamente recomendable pero también he utilizado el accesorio que es como cepillo redondo para un alaciado sin maltratarlo y es excelente

I bought this hair dryer after taking my extensions out and feeling like I wasn't using my Dyson Airwrap much anymore because the hair dryer on it isn't very strong. The shark dries my hair in rough dries my hair in less than 5 minutes and the smoothing attachment gets my hair incredibly straight. I use a frizz fighting leave in conditioner with it and it works so well in combination. One of the best products I've purchased from Amazon yet.
