Bought two so I now have a spare
I used the new internal spring and tube as replacement on a used RainBird 4" in my yard. Look closely inside after removal as mine had sand pebbles inside around bottom edge. I used a ice pick to push them into the water pipe. Briefly reinstalled the old pop-up center without a nozzle top and blew it out. Works ok and I did not have to replace the entire head in the ground.

It leaks less than the old one, so that's as good as a water sprayer is going to get.
