It's great to get this novel
It's great to get this novel, scientifically based approach to tasting wine, which isn't so much focused on 'deconstructing' the wine to perceive its various components/factors, but more on how we as human beings are equiped to perceive ('taste') wine in the first place and how our mind works to 'construct' the subjective taste impression out of our sensory impressions. The book is more about yourself in the relationship to wine, than it is about wine.

Great read for serious wine drinkers wanting to know the technologies of taste
This is a great technical read regarding how we taste wine and why it tastes the way it does. This is not a book for the novice wine drinker who just wants to learn more about wine, but an excellent resource for serious drinkers and anyone working in the wine industry. The content here is more scientific than general and very extensively researched. Well written!

I bought this book for a sensory analysis class. There's lots of science and technical details all related to nosing and tasting wine. An enjoyable read.

Nice change of pace for your wine library.
This is not your normal wine book but it's an enjoyable read for wine hobbyists. It's written in a nice conversational tone and is a good length.

A scientific dissection of tasting wine
This book fails to indicate how one actually goes about tasting wine, but cites many studies and experiments about the factors that influence tasting. This gives understanding to tasting wine, but nowhere is it written how one can go about doing it, assuming, instead, that one already knows how to taste wine. And that is a large and faulty assumption.

this is a great and fascinating book on the science of wine tasting. it goes far beyond a description of how to taste wine and delves into how the process works from a scientific perspective.If you're looking for a simple book on wine tasting this is not for you. If you are keen to understand all the science details of wine tasting grab this book. Esses são alguns dos adjetivos que poderiam perfeitamente qualificar esse novo trabalho de Jamie Goode, um dos autores indispensáveis para quem quer entender melhor tudo o que cerca o vinho, com uma acurada visão científica e muito bem fundamentada. Um livro realmente interessante, que merece, e precisa, ser lido e relido.
