Frozen Salmon cooked to perfection in about 15 minutes
This is my third purchase of one of these versatile cookers that combine halogen, convection, and infrared heat technology to render a wonderful meal, without heating the entire house with a huge kitchen oven. Best of all, it can cook food from a frozen state, with no need to defrost; it can cook multiple foods at the same time—on different levels, and uses less energy and time to cook. It also cool when you turn the lights off, leaving it to glow its own romantic light. A glass of wine adds to the mood. But I digress. These little portable ovens sell with various descriptions, e.g. toaster ovens, oilless friers, etc., but the internal functions are—as far as I can tell—the same. My first purchase was the Super Wave Oven, by The Sharper Image some twelve years ago. I replaced it when the heating element no longer glowed or heated. My next was the Big Boss Oil-Less Fryer, which I still use. I bought this Nutrichef Toaster Oven as a back-up, to replace my Big Boss when it fizzles out some day. So, I haven’t used it. I hope it’ll be a long time before I need to open the box, like when I’m in my mid 80s. I haven’t used my regular oven since I discovered these wonderful ovens. With the extension ring that increases the cooking space, you can cook a whole 16 pound turkey in about 3-1/2 hours. I’m partial to cooking my frozen salmon steaks in about 15 minutes. No frying pan to attend, and I get delicious, non-greasy sealed-in flavor. I bought this Nutrichef, because it had the best price at the time.

Works as expected...heat things well and will crips my pork skin
This is a replacement for my previous air fryer that lasted 4 years. This one is similar in design but made by another company. The unit heats up fast and seem quieter than my previous one. It comes well packed and came with a good assortment of accessories like an expansion ring for larger food like a roast along with several racks. It has worked well with the ability to reheat French fries and crips pork skins. The quality of the appliance is above average with a cost that is reasonable. Use this several times a week as cooking with electricity is cheaper than my gas range/stove

Enormous but functions well
This air fryer works beautifully. I was skeptical about the glass bowl, but it really does clean up easily, and for my family of 4, it's large enough for us to be able to cook for all of us instead of in batches. This would have been five stars except for two major cons: (1) the air fryer is a space hog. I don't use it every day, and I was hoping to be store it in a cabinet like I did with my old one, but it does not fit. Thankfully, I can leave it out on the counter, but I had to clear and reserve double the space because of the lid. Because the lid contains the heating element, you cannot place it directly on the counter when you open the air fryer to check on or remove your food. I keep the steel ring out next to the air fryer so that when I need to remove the lid, i can set it on the ring. If you don't have a lot of spare counter space, I'd think very carefully about buying this model. (2) the accessories that are included are practically worthless. The grills are too side and frozen fries or bite-size appetizers fall through (I had to purchase two separate grills anyway), and the tongs are absolutely worthless. Invest in a good set of silicone-tipped ones instead.

Didn't last 16 months
I really liked this convection oven when I first got it. It worked well up until 3 months ago when it would only turn on after finagling with the handle about a half a dozen times. Now today, it was running fine but then just suddenly stopped halfway through cooking dinner. No amount of finagling would get it to turn back on. No fan, no heat, no lights. Nothing. Just the timer works.I can't believe this oven only lasted 13 months before starting to malfunction. I have owned these type of convection ovens since the early 90s. My first one, a Galloping Gourmet, lasted over 15 years. This is only the third one I have had to buy in all of that time and it is by far the WORST one. Not worth the price they are asking.I cannot recommend this defective product. Very disappointing that I wasted my money on this oven.

What's not to love?
Cooking appliances like this one have been around for decades. They are tried and true. Compared to the average air fryer of today, halogen ovens are compact but spacious and easier to clean. I found conversion charts and tons of recipes on the internet. Being able to watch my food cook is so much more satisfying than having to pull out a drawer of a closed unit to see it. After the learning curve is behind you, you are enjoying delicious, healthy food. Oh, and the halogen oven even cleans itself! This is love!Update 12-22-23My Nutrichef convection oven is still performing great. I've come a long way experimenting and have mastered two-level air frying. It's easy to clean and still looks new.Update 1-18-25Nothing has changed. It's still a great appliance!

So many options!
I just received the NurtiChef Convection Oven cooker today. I am very pleased with how well it was packaged and the fast shipping. I unboxed it and easily set it up but cannot attest just yet to its functionality. I will definitely write another review after using it for a while. My husband and I visited family a few days ago and they used their NutriChef to prepare a meal for us. It was very delicious! We were so impressed with it that my husband secretly bought me one for my upcoming birthday and surprised me with it today! I love the size of the bowl and the multiple racks that allow for the food to be layered while cooking. The NutriChef makes it convenient to prepare an entire meal in one dish with fast and easy cleanup afterward. I do a lot of meal prep with my 6qt Instant Pot/Air Fryer. It does a wonderful job but limits me on the amount of food I can prepare per batch due to the size of the insert and too, not being able to layer the food on multiple racks. The NutriChef Convection Oven is just what I needed to speed up my meal prep days. Its 18qt glass bowl with extension ring adds more space for larger meals and the two metal stackable racks are going to be a game changer for me. I'm excited to start cooking with it!
