In My Tree Board book – August 12, 2009

This is a very simple, very short book (12 pages: 5 two page spreads, with a first and last page). The text is brief and simplistic. It is perfect for a very young child. The little owl finger puppet is adorable: brightly colored, soft to touch, and fun to look at, especially when he moves to and fro on mom's finger, or slides through the tree with each turn of the page. The story is sweet, ending with the little bird arriving safe inside his warm tree with his family. My 1 year old loved the story and the bird.

I added this book to our baby registry and when we received it, I was disappointed, thinking that it has very little content and very little words inside and it was a waste of money. However, our son found it super interesting. He is now almost a year old and he still finds this book engaging for long periods of time. I do read it to him some times but he loves just opening and closing it, looking at the puppet, and the holes in a book are a great toy in itself - my son likes dropping things in these holes (and I sometimes then hide these objects, which is a great game), or sometimes I look through the hole at him and it give him laughs! Vibrant colors stimulate him as well. Great book and a toy in one!

This was one of my kids' favorite books when they were both babies. Bright colors, very simple story, and cute owl finger puppet. Our book has been so loved, it has gone through many repairs. I bought this book again for a baby shower, as it's appropriate for tiny babies up through toddlers. There's a page where it's raining, a page where it's fall, a page where it's night, and a page with the baby owl's mommy and daddy. Little bugs on each page are fun for them to point out, too!

I bought this book as a gift for my 1 year old niece. It is a simple book that is easy to understand and has beautiful, colorful pictures on the inside! It is very durable as it has been lugged around in diaper bags between family visits and babysitters and is still very sturdy. Some of the color on the back (near the bar code?) has started to peel (after several months) but I suspect this may be because it has gotten wet at some point. My niece loves the owl "puppet" in the middle and is especially entertained when it moves.

My 8 month old loves the owl puppet, but after reading a handful of times, the puppet is starting to look a little bent out of shape. It doesn't quite fit through the last cut out in the book, which bends the ears and legs. The book really holds baby's attention, but it's only 5 pages long - bit of a bummer. Overall, it's a fun book, but maybe overpriced for what you're getting.

I bought this book for my son who is now 16 weeks. He enjoys hearing the story and the interaction of the owl finger puppet. It is a short story with very nice, colorful, pages that have graduating cutouts allowing you to poke the owl through and onto the scene on the page. The little owl puppet was the first item that motivated my son to reach out and grab it, intentionally. It wasn't even my intention at the time. I would recommend this one to anyone looking for a simple, interactive, and effective baby book.

My son likes the pop out owl, but beyond that the text is pretty dull. And a personal adult bug bear...the last page cut out is too small for the owl so you have to force him through. Wouldn't recommend.

Charming illustrations, sweet little story and an adorable finger puppet to keep baby's attention. My son, even now at 16 months, is still fascinated by this book, how it works and how the little owl comes to life!

Vary good quality book. Interesting idea to put a finger puppet inside the book. My little one (8 months) starts to get interested in it slowly. Good book to get your baby into reading :)

We received this as a present for our baby and have since bought it for others. Very simple with beautiful drawings and a cute little interactive owl to entertain. Perfect!
