Does it come apart so you can take it when you travel?

Mine did not come apart, but it broke after a couple of months' use. I'm considering going after a different model, all metal with a different basket. The circular basket does not do well in the corners of the litter box.

Would it work for a cat small kernel hard food scoop?

The scoop on the end is hard formed, and slightly flexible. It's probably 3/4 cup, I cook but havn't measured what's scooped from the litter box. :) As long as you have a large enough opening on the cat food container, it should do well as a scooper. Just remember that it's like using a long handled large gravy ladle when you get to the bottom, you'll have to maneuver the container to get the food into the scooper.

How do i contact about warranty? i bought one in july of this year and the weld has given out on the basket. i’m pretty disappointed.
