Great bit of kit
I was sceptical how well this would actually work but ran a 30m cable without any issues. Perfect picture. Would recommend.

Very good value for money, I’m impressed
I was skeptical about this product due to the price and some other reviews but I purchased this to run my Xbox over Cat6 to my Tv that is wall mounted. The actual picture quality and sound quality is better than I expected. In all honesty you would never tell that it’s not a direct HDMI cable between the two. These converters are more compact than I expected which is great and so far 5 months down the line I’ve had no problems at all thus far. They do feel like a quality built product also and it’s a real bonus that only the transmission end needs mains power. No complaints so far !

Works well
Simple to set up and worked without problems. I ran 16mtr or cat6 external cable and all worked perfectly.

Brilliant bit of kit.
I had to connect two large 43-Inch screens and a small monitor on a lighting gantry over a demonstration area ( a woodturning lathe) for my club. The desk where the person controlling the PTZ cameras is at the back of the hall, so we needed to get the HDMI signal round the wall and up to the screens, about 20m cable length. That's longer that I would have liked with an HDMI cable. This little transmitter from OREI lets you connect to the receiver using standard CAT5e or CAT6a Ethernet cable, although I took the additional precaution of using shielded versions to reduce any electronic interference, then it's just a question of a short HDMI cable to an OREI HDMI splitter with 4 HDMI ports to send the signal to the three screens.Don't get sucked into Ethernet cable tech spin. CAT5e and the higher spec CAT6a are fine for the vast majority of networks. CAT7 is not a real standard, just a marketing tool from a specific company, and CAT8 is designed for optical fibre cables which are used on very high speed or long distance networks.

Two separate units have failed within a month
The idea is great. The picture quality is spot on. WHEN they work.I ordered the first one of these after trying a multitude of awful HDMI extenders. I tried wireless and over Cat 6. I am extending the HDMI output from a Network Video Recorder in the loft to an upstairs office - a distance of about 10m (if that). This product was the only one that actually delivered a decent picture quality. However it failed a couple of weeks after installing - it's POE so the receiver end shows a green light when connected - and then a flashing orange light when data is being transferred. It just stopped working suddenly - green light remained on - no more orange data light.Tried turning it off and on again several times - always got the green light - but no orange, and the screen stayed blank. There is no hard reset button or any other kind of control - it's just plug and play - except it's decided not to play.I removed the product from the loft, and connected it with a short pre-made cable just to be sure it wasn't the cable at fault - but still no comms.Thinking it was a one-off - I arranged the return, and ordered another of the same units. This one has also just demonstrated the same fault one month into ownership. So that's two separate units that have died within a month of install.Love the product and the image quality - but something significant is letting it down, and I don't have the time to spend faffing about trying to work out what it is. Back to the drawing board, and I'll try another product.
