I use it for some of my aromatherapy blends. This particular brand was recommended by my aromatherapy school. It is not quite the same thing as Aloe Vera gel. A standard Aloe Vera gel contains more water in it and is typically liquid. You normally can just pour Aloe Vera Gel from a glass bottle. This Gelly, as its name suggests, has a thick consistency reminiscent of that of a gelly. You will need to squeeze the bottle to get it out. It has the ability to absorb a good amount of hydrosols blended wth it before it gets too watery, and concurrently mixes well with essential oils. Aloe vera appears to be a mild emulsifier, but with too much water in a blend, it would no longer mix with essential oils. I would not be able to make the same blends with Aloe Vera gel as they would be just liquid with oils floating on top. It has small amount of preservatives in it, in theory it should be sufficient just to keep the contents of the bottle fresh, but I had good success with longer than I expected stability of my blends as well.

Nice amount of gel for the price I paid. I had a burn and it went away pretty fast with the gel. Nice texture. I was originally using it for my dry scalp (everyone is different so it might or might not work for you) and while at first it did seem to work it then stopped but I have since fixed my scalp problem. I have used it on my face to and it leaves your face feeling very refreshed and brand new. The absorption time is under 5 minutes for me.

I’ve been using this for the past three years as a base for pain and anxiety massage lotions. It is wonderful, and I love it so much more than using standard lotions. First, there’s no water in this product! Second, its formulation means it turns into an opaque lotion as soon as you mix in some essential oils. It’s just thicker, which is especially helpful if you’re trying to, say, rub it into the back of your own neck (in other words, no dripping). And yes it’s moisturizing. The skin on my arthritic 69-year-old knees where I’ve been using this for the past couple years has less wrinkles than the rest of my legs. I’d give this 10 stars if I could!

Can't say enough about this product! I use this after shaving my head and face and it leaves my skin soft, nourished, and healthy looking. I particularly use this around my eyes to relieve the puffiness in the morning, and over the last 3 years it seems to have diminished my crows feet. Seriously, people I work with are shocked when I tell them I'm almost 60. I look younger than most of my 40-something colleagues. In addition, there are clinical trials being done that seems to show some correlation between large Basal Skin Carcinoma regression with the introduction of aloe vera. So, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of a cure as the saying goes, and I couldn't agree more.
