The package says it's 70 lumens; I assume that's the max brightness, but there are two different levels. The night light function is dimmer, but the motion-activated light, whether in nightlight mode or not, is much brighter — a little too bright for my middle-of-the-night preferences, to be honest.

How do I get it to stop changing colors if I want white only?

Plug it in and colors it has will display.. one at a time. When you see the color you want displayed at night press button on side or top of unit to lock in color . Now when it goes off it will only display the color you selected

Must the colors change after being activated by motion?

no..if you don't want the colors to change...press the button on the side until u get to the white light then stop..it will lock in that color and the colors won't change even after activation of the motion sensor

will it turn on when i walk into room and turn off when walk out?

yes it will. It will take about 10-15 seconds after you leave the area before it turns off. great device.
