Did not see that comming
This book was absolutely great. Luca and Verona story is just perfect the twist in there I did not even see coming I had a sneaking suspicion but oh it blew me out of the water. Very well written and it kept me in suspense. Plenty of spice and teasing until the actual spicy begins. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope. I love this story

mafia families
Great book. Luca and Verona who started as friends when they were young, their families became enemies and their grandfathers made a contract deal that they would marry. Rocky start to their marriage, but with all the outside drama they come together.

Interesting, twist turning plot solid 4.5 stars
This was good, and this author's writing is excellent. I just didn’t connect with the story, again, my opinion. It had so much more potential. We meet Luca, her adoptive brother Dante, and Verona as children playing in the park. Luca tells his dad that he loves Verona, or something to this effect, his dad tells him that they need to hate her, and so he comes to the playground and tells her he hates her. She is devastated because she truly loved him as her best friend. FFW, both grandfathers die and leave in a will that both need to get married to each other so that their parents can inherit their business. Story begins.Luca was hard to like in the beginning, but eventually, he grew on me. Verona was sweet and she did try to make it work but I felt she was a doormat. I wanted her to fight more, but it is what it is. Luca eventually comes around and becomes even more OTT Alpha male. There is a backstory, suspense, murder, and mayhem. It was entertaining, to say the least.

a good read. it not at all a dark romance
this was cute but luca could’ve just been a corporate millionaire. it wasn’t dark at all and i couldn’t see him as a ruthless and cruel killer no matter how much the narrator said he was. he was a softie and him as a big bad mafia boss was not believable at all. that said i did like this! it made me smile. i just think calling it “dark” is misleading. i wasn’t a big fan of the plot line with constantine it just felt misplaced in their world and a little silly and contrived and it added nothing. i wish more time would’ve been spent on what LUCA does instead. also the dante stuff was predictable and sort of boring. verona was quite naive and the dialogue tags needed work. the writing just lacked proper tension and punch. but the couple was cute and it had all the right tropes. a quick and cute read but certainly not dark and didn’t need to be a mafia romance.

not bad
H- Luca Vitaleh- Verona MorettiThis was a good story… I just wished Verona had a back bone.(just a little)The story started with the characters being around 8-12 yrs old. Verona already met Dante- who’s mom & dad got killed for being trader (something like that) so they (Verona’s parents) to take Dante. Verona was waiting for her new friend Luca to meet at the part. She sees Luca walking towards her & he screamed at her & told her that his family don’t deal with her family. That was the last time they saw each other. Fast forward we find out that her mom committed suicide by taking pills & drowning herself in the pool. Verona found her mom & almost drown trying to save her already dead mother. Since then she has been sent away to study & then to live with her frugal aunt. Luca’s mom was murdered & he also found her. Luca & his family thought it was the Moretti (Verona’s family) so the feud continue til their grandparents passed & they left a will that both Verona & Luca get married in order for both family to get their inheritance. So they got married & she decided to bring her best friend Dante with her as a bodyguard. So this part wasn’t bad. The part that was very annoying is that everything Luca did or say to her made her cry! He would talk & treat her like crap & she would just cry & try again to the be the perfect Wife. There is a twist towards the end which I kind of suspect.

Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover
Luca and Verona are two sides of the same coin. Soulmates that come together again years later through an arraigned marriage. Misconceptions on Luca’s side sets the marriage off to a rocky start. There’s a decades long mystery begging to be solved, coupled with betrayal. It’s an emotional roller coaster. Strap yourself in for a wild ride. Totally worth it!

Suspenseful
An enjoyable story with a perpetual darkness that lingers throughout the story. The characters were wonderfully crafted and their journey was delightful to read. I loved the suspense and the reveals were perfectly placed. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Sweet tempting romance
I won't call it dark romance, as it's too sweet to be considered for that category. Luca and Verona are like perfect pieces for puzzles. Love, romance, action and drama. Story was pretty predictable, but still sweet to read.

good book
Plot was good and I really enjoyed it. Loved Lucas change of heart once he realised he was so wrong about Verona. Not sure o believe Dante was the killer though he would of only been 10 at the time he killed Verona mum and 14 when he killed Lucas. Doesn’t really add up but story was good all the same
