The BN-LINK worked perfectly the first night. I just plugged it in and set it. Didn’t even need to read the instructions. On day two we had a two hour power outage. The device was unaffected. That’s exactly why I bought it. Regular timers need to be reset. This device resets on its own.BTW I’m using it indoors. Ambient light is not a problem. Once it goes on at dusk I can turn on and off another light and that does not interrupt the programmed light-on duration.I’ve seen no other product that works this way. Good design!

Using outside on front porch. Easily Mounted under rail, set for automatic night use. Working great!

Works very well as advertised. Been using it for a month. Tested it inside first and worked well in dusk-to-dawn and 4-hour modes. I'm using dusk-to-dawn mode outside to run some lights among the landscaping. Easy to set.

UPDATE: Oct 4, 2018 Century requested an update. Light has been controlling outdoor landscape lighting nightly, cycles on/off on the previously problematic 2 hour setting. Have had no issues with this unit. Update to 4 stars.UPDATE: July 5 2018 Century provided another unit which I installed last night and it did shut off correctly on the two hour setting. Update to 3 starts, will update in due time given product ongoing performance. I must say this company is very responsive and took time to correct the problem quickly. Thanks!ORIGINAL REVIEW at ONE STAR: I need a dusk to dawn timer for the 8 LED yard lights, each drawing 5 watts so 40 total. Bought this based on overly GLOWING reviews that seem all too.... placed? Product supposed to be light activated and switch off after N hours. I checked it to make sure it would switch on and off, ok. Then plugged in the lights, set it for two hours, unit/lights came on at dusk, great, but should have gone off 2 hours later. Got up around 5 am lights all still shining bright, then stayed on after the sun came up into the bright daylight sun until I had to unplug it. BIG Fail! The timer feature never shuts off nor does the photocell detect the next day's sunlight. The fact that it turned the lights on but then fails to ever shut off either by solar sensor or by timer is mystical. Bad batch perhaps? Or circuit design issues perhaps? Shame, I have other Century timers inside they work fine. Hope to hear from the manufacturer but returning quickly and going with another brand. Overall, disappointing.

UPDATED REVIEWI wanted to update my original review, in which I left this product a one-star review (my original review is below). After leaving that original review, the product manufacturer reached out to me here on Amazon. The manufacturer is awesome and very responsive! To try to make things right, the manufacturer sent me a replacement Photocell Light Sensor since my return window with Amazon had closed. The replacement works perfectly and as designed. It is exactly what I needed. The manufacturer gets an A+ and the customer service reps, Sally, Darren, and Steven, were outstanding. Given the excellent customer service and great quality of the replacement photosensor outlet, I believe this deserves a five-star review.ORIGINAL REVIEW (below)I received delivery of this timer the first week of January 2022, and it sat unopened on my desk until about two weeks ago (mid-May 2022). I opened the box and plugged it in outside to automatically turn on exterior string lights on my patio, setting the dial to come on at dusk and stay on for 2 hours. It worked great for the first few days, but then it stopped working. It does turn the lights on at dusk, but it does not turn them off after 2 hours; rather, it keeps them on all night, despite being set for only 2 hours of operation. I noticed that it stopped working correctly after we had rain, which means it is not weatherproof as the product says. Unfortunately, I can no longer return this item because I waited too long to use it, and I'm past the return window.Given the fact that it stopped working after only 2 weeks, I would not recommend this item to anyone. It does not seem weatherproof. WASTE OF MONEY!

EDIT!!!!As my original review stated I thought that the photocell was not working but, it turns out I'm a victim of modern day instant gratification. If you turn on the photocell setting or the timed setting the lights will shut off which is what made me think the photocell was not working. If only I had waited another 20-30 seconds I would have seen the lights turn right back on! We've been using this for less than a week but, it's been so good so far now that I've been patient and let the item do it's job. I've used the 4H and 6H timers so I havn't seen the lights turn off but, they havn't been on when I've woken up so it works for me. lolI'm sorry for the original bad review! The customer service was great as a replacement was immediately sent out once my review was seen! I'm going to send it back unopened since there's no need to ruin a perfectly find product!I just received this unit in the mail. I pkugged it into the wall and it works great on the always on/off settings but the photocell option doesnt work. It's dark out but I do live in a small city so there is ambient light. I covered the photcell with my finger to see if it would turn on and it did not. It is now being used as an on/off switch so i dont have to unplug the two cables each time.I think i'll initiate a refund/exchange if the company doesn't reach out to me first..
