used this in 2014 Subaru forester custom car audio install. Factory camera power in Forester was 5V switched when camera was on. This was not enough to trigger 12V camera sense wire of custom car audio deck installed. Figured I would give this booster a try. Worked GREAT for this purpose. Tied both device grounds together and then to vehicle ground and then tapped 5v wire of device into the Subaru 5V camera on voltage source and supplied the 12 V wire of this device to head unit 12V camera sense lead. This works a treat and allows aftermarket head unit to trigger and use factory Subaru rear camera!

Nice quality, sealed construction. Lightweight with good heat dissipation. I decided to go with a 9V converter for my project but I would definitely use this in a future project

Needed a boost converter to keep the RF receiver on a remotely controlled 12V winch (a ATV winch repurposed as a boat lift winch) from cutting out due to undervoltage when the winch motor is under heavy load. Did the trick and saved me from having to provide a secondary source of power just for the RF pack.

Good quality step-up (boost) DC-DC Converter.Be aware that this product comes in a few different versions under the same Amazon listing; they have different output current ratings.Although there is no documentation for/ with these, the markings on their labels provide adequate basic information regarding wiring, voltage and maximum current.I have the version that has a maximum 1A output. I have found that if the connected output load exceeds 1A, the device shuts off the output in order to protect itself. Removing the input voltage briefly will restore normal operation when input power is reapplied.I used mine to boost a 6V battery to 12V for a trailer lighting testerThe device consists of a cast aluminum heat sink with a potted circuit inside, and the four wires coming out of the potting. Should be fairly waterproof.

The device is had it on would run then shut off.

Works even better than advertised. I'm using it to boost the voltage from a 3.7 V LIPO battery (4 volts nominal) to power a motorized valve. Even with a 4 volt input it still produces 12 volt DC power to run the valve.Recommend.

Works great no noise heavy duty easy to hook up.

only one out of the 2 purchased worked straight out of the box. I had to return the broken one. The one that is working, works great.
