Does the job well for a good price
Does well what itโs supposed to do! Needed to ensure a voltage sensitive appliance was receiving adequate voltage. It has other useful functions too that I might utilize in the future but this is what I purchased it for. Good price too, and a quality product.

Great meter for know how many watts a appliance is using and a great addition is it adds up how much the appliance cost to run also , a great feature as I use it for plant experiments, I need to know wattage and cost of a grow from seed to harvest , this is a spectacular product for these calculations

Works well, understand its limits
Easy to use, the one-page (double sided) sheet is descriptive and helpful. When used with an outlet where both are used, you can run into a bit of a problem. The unit "intrudes" onto the second outlet's path. Which means if a two prong plug is used in the second outlet, it is likely that it can be inserted with no problem. However, a three-prong lug may be too "thick" to fully mate (see images). And if a USB dongle or power-brick is installed in the second outlet (see images), it is unlikely that all can be plugged in successfully. It can only be plugged into the top outlet without fully masking the lower outlet. The manual is good at hinting at tricks to be used for properly measuring an appliance's power usage, like commenting that the refrigeration compressor being on will engage power measurements, while hinting that when the device is quiescent, no power is consumed, and the clock isn't running. The display is bright and easy to read, even at oblique angles and in bright, indirect sunlight. The reset tool provided needs to have a clip or compartment in which it can be stored. I will guarantee you will lose this; I'm going to attach it with a string through a hole I'll drill in the tool. I think you can safely use a ballpoint pen, although the mfg does not recommend this. My usage of these devices will be to measure the short and long term power consumption of various devices in order to properly size UPS-style battery backups for medical devices. I am pleased with them so far. I wish I could give a 4.8 or 4.9 because of the limitations I've outlined here. Not as bad as a 4, and not perfect either.

Excellent right out of the box (even with weird UI); great value
I use an Emporia power meter ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CJGPHL9 ) to monitor whole-home and per-circuit power usage, but this product really allows me to focus on a single device. The display is clear and easy to read, and the values if displays are just the ones that I want to see. The "Function" button lets you cycle through the different display modes (e.g., Power, Voltage, Amps), and works exactly as you'd expect. Some display modes have a counter feature, which is also very nice - a graph would have been a nice add-on, but perhaps one wouldn't expect it for the price, which I hasten to reiterate is very competitive. The unit is solidly-made, and has no trouble working with relatively heavy-current items, such as a 1500W kettle, shown in the pics. My only complaints about it are the directed to the user interface. They managed to find room enough to put four buttons on the front of the thing, but to clear/reset the counter display you have to push "Function" and "Up" simultaneously. I may be some sort of weirdo special case, but "Function" (mode selection) and Clear are the only operations I'll ever care about, having set up the small set of configuration options. I expect that I'll only use it once a month or so, and I'll never remember the mysterious chord to reset the counter. I expect I'll write the cheat code on the unit with a sharpie!

An excellent low-cost replacement for Kill A Watts - Bought @ $19.34 for 2-pack
I feel price informs value and try to include the price paid in all my reviews. I highly recommend everyone do the same. In this case, I paid $19.34 for the 2-pack on 11/4/23. If you are reading reviews of power meters, you already know why you want one. This particular model is a good successor to the old Kill-A-Watt meters. The KW brand still exists, but have priced themselves out of the game. Pros: These meters have a large, bright display, easy controls, and are (within my ability to test, which makes them fine for the home gamer) very accurate. These will track all the usual real-time info: Volts/PF/Watts/Amps/Hz etc. And they have a nice cumulative power consumption option that is missing on some of the other lower cost meters. This feature is great to find how much item x is using over a day or a week, etc. I use them to test battery capacity for my solar system and they work fantastically without the need for uni-taskers equipment like a coulomb meter. Cons'ish: Version - Make sure you get the model that says "Updated". There is an identical looking model that doesn't have a backlight, nor does it have the ability to reset the watts over time count without a "press the button in the hole with a pen" method. If the pictures shows the blue backlight, you are all good, but I find the old version pretty much useless and didn't' realize till too late to return. Size - These are pretty big. Lots of scenarios where they will block the other outlet, etc. Easy enough to work around, but worth noting. Summary - I've got several of these and couldn't be happier. I use them at home and work and have never had any trouble with them. They handle 15 amp loads without any issue as well. I would definitely recommend when on sale around $10/per.

useful meter
I've seen this meter used on multiple YouTube channels on power station. I thought was a very useful and since I am a tech nerd/geek it wouldn't hurt to have one of these. Quality appears great. Very user friendly with several features/modes to navigate through. The backlight is a plus for us hard-to-see folks :-).

Know the power you have !
I give this 5 stars because it does everything in its manufacturers description! I am on oxygen machine 24/7 and was surprised that my Electric O2 concentrator ran at a much lower wattage than I expected. My fridge, on the other hand, sucks. NOT LOL !

Tolles Energiemessgerรคt, hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhรคltnis.
Ich habe etwa 9 Energiemessgerรคte verschiedener Hersteller. Alle haben den Nachteil, dass die Displays nur aus einem bestimmten Blickwinkel gut abzulesen sind. Oft sind Steckdosen in der Kรผche, Wohnzimmer, oder hinter Waschmaschinen/Trocknern in Hรผfthรถhe oder einige Zentimeter รผber Fuรleisten am Boden angebracht. Aus Sichthรถhe sind diese Displays nicht oder kaum abzulesen. Ich habe auch Meรgerรคte mit obenliegendem Display, aber ich muss nahe herantreten, um die Daten ablesen zu kรถnnen. Normale frontseitig angebrachte Displays sind aus Sichthรถhe meistens nur mittels Taschenlampe abzulesen. Deshalb suchte ich lange Zeit nach einem Meรgerรคt mit beleuchtetem Display. Diese gibt es, allerdings schaltet sich die Hintergrundbeleuchtung in kรผrzester Zeit von selbst ab. Das ist nervig, z. B. wenn ich Stromschwankungen beobachten oder Daten notieren mรถchte. Dieses Energiemessgerรคt fรผr gรผnstige 12โฌ bietet genau das, was ich lange gesucht hatte. Das Display ist sehr groร, alle Daten sehr gut ablesbar, allerdings nur bei aktiver Hintergrundbeleuchtung. Ohne Beleuchtung sind die Daten kaum zu erkennen. Mein Meรgerรคt entspricht nicht der (unbeleuchteten) Abbildung im Angebot. Das Display ist dunkelblau mit schwarzem Rahmen und die weiรen Ziffern sind bei ausgeschalteter Beleuchtung kaum zu erkennen. Allerdings schaltet sich bei leichtem Druck auf eine der vier Tasten das hervorragend beleuchtete Display ein und alle Daten kรถnnen auch aus weiter Entfernung klar und ohne Stress abgelesen werden. Und das fรผr ganze 10 Minuten. Glรผcklicherweise stimmt dies nicht mit der Bedienungsanleitung รผberein, hier soll die Hintergrundbeleuchtung nur 30 Sekunden aktiviert sein. In diesem Fall hรคtte ich das Messgerรคt zurรผck gegeben. Meines leuchtet aber nicht 30, sondern volle 600 Sekunden. Die Messungen sind genau, mit den Funktionstasten kann ich alle wichtigen Messwerte durchblรคttern und die Kosten je kwh einstellen. Das Gerรคt zeigt Stromverbrรคuche ab 0,3 W an, erfasst somit auch die kleinen Standbyverbrรคuche. Ministrรถme unter 0,3 W werden mit 0,0W angezeigt. Das ist bei den meisten Energiemessgerรคten ebenso der Fall. Fรผr diese Miniverbrรคuche habe ich ein Meรgerรคt, welches ab 0,01 W misst. Das kann ich aber nur gebรผckt und mit Taschenlampe ablesen. Dieses Energiemessgerรคt hat keine Speicherbatterie, lรถscht also alle Daten (auรer dem eingestellten Strompreis), wenn es aus der Steckdose entnommen wird. Dafรผr habe ich aber Meรgerรคte mit Speicher. Alles in allem aber ist dieses Energiemessgerรคt fรผr alle Normalnutzer, die ein sehr gut ablesbares Messgerรคt (wenn hintergrundbeleuchtet) mit einem hervorragenden Preis - Leistungsverhรคltnis suchen, sehr empfehlenswert. Mit seinem dunkelblauen, lange beleuchteten Display ist es auch ein ausgesprochen schรถnes Gerรคt.

Super way to see your actual wattage
I'm really impressed with this power watt meter. I needed to know how much wattage my brand new desktop computer was using but mainly on the start up and this power meter monitors and shows me that type of information. Here is what the unit will display, the time since connected, the total amount of wattage since connected, the current wall voltage with frequency, the current amperage being drawn plus the power factor, the lowest wattage reading, the highest wattage reading and the total cost for running item. In order for the last one to work, I must enter the price it costs me per kilowatt hour which I got off my hydro bill. I like that this unit has two different resets, a factory reset and a soft reset which will only remove the accumulated data like time since connected, low and high readings. The unit comes with two reset tools, these are for the factor reset but any small blunt object will work as a reset tool. The soft reset is done by pressing two buttons on the front panel at the same time. I also like that I can change how long the screen backlight stays on. If I want to see how much energy my PC uses for the month, then I can set the backlight to turn off quickly but if I'm doing readings every few minutes then I can leave the screen on longer. My options are 10 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours and stay on always. Since my GPS device doesn't say when it is fully charged, I connect my GPS thru the power meter. When the power meter wattage starts to decrease then I know my GPS is almost charged. This power meter also came in very handy as it detected that I was using a USB A to C cable that didn't have the ability to pass more than 2.5 watts. When charging some items, their charge time went from 4 hours to 10 hours so now thanks to the power meter, I checked every USB cable and have rated the cables to their wattage level. Now, I can grab the right cable when charging a device. This power watt meter is outstanding and very useful.

I can read it from a wide angle range. Very helpful tool.
1. It showed me that the TAPO P110 smart plugs I use to shut everything off (eg all the computer gear at night) are not super accurate. EG, Testing a fridge over 24 days, TAPO 23.7kw. The Blue beast, 24.7Kw (TAPO 1.06 Kw out) TAPO plugs use only a few watts and are Wi-Fi linked to an APP on my mobile phone. The APP has just been updated and seems to be more accurate now, and you can add your Kw/ยฃ unit. However there have been some changes to how it displays readings which are taking some getting used to. 2. BLUE You CAN reset the values, by pressing FUNC and UP together for a few seconds. Rather than fiddling with the 'reset' tiny button. Partway through test now, so cannot double check, but I think it keeps price, clears rest. If not, adding price again is no big thing. 3. Bit of a pain that you have to press FUNC to get it to light up, which shifts it to the next page, then you have to cycle through the pages again to get to 'Using NOW' which includes, top, 'run time' (which is the amount of time the item has been using more than 2 watts, ie actual working hours total.) Using Watts 'now', middle, and at bottom, COST 'up to NOW'. You learn fast this page, is right after the page with HI written at the bottom. 4. I can read the screen, sat on top of the counter, even when it is in 'dark' mode with the backlight off. So I stopped having to cycle through all to get the backlight on. 5. Right now, I am testing two fridge/freezers at the same time. A on a TAPO, B on BLUE. Fridge A is old, old, and built into a kitchen as an undercounter fridge freezer, H86,W54,D60. Ave 0.9 Kw a day. My first set of tests on fridge A alone was with a TAPO AND the BLUE. Running the 2 fridge comparison A has just a TAPO (updated APP) on, and the BLUE is on the B, other fridge. Part of the reason A is using so much, apart from being old and inefficient, is that it is jammed in there with no ventilation. It is in effect, heating itself, in a box then having to cool itself back down. The pump peaks at 100w on start up, down to 71w just before it shuts off and it cycles for an hour at a time. Then has a rest, while it soaks in all the boxed in heat, for a bit over an hour... Then off we go again. 24 hour test, runtime 11 hours. Temp varies between 7.4c and 2,6c during this insanity. NOW, I only know about the runtime and pump peak specifics because the TAPO smart plug (Updated APP) gave me that info as a graph (past 24 hours, Power). I had to work out runtime from APP, (APP not clear on this, whereas Blue is specific). BLUE will tell you it peaks(HI)at something like 1560W, because it is so sensitive and for a split second that is the load watts to get the pump to start, but it doesn't really help in this situation. But BLUE will give you a very accurate runtime, from start, to NOW. Not, each day and when, which the APP will. So the best way to use the BLUE is run an appliance for an hour, or, a day (24hours, eg 3pm to 3pm). Or you can just plug something in and see what it uses and take your shoes and socks off and do some maths. 6. Fridge B, Running on just BLUE, this fridge (16 year old, Whirlpool, class A before the codes changed) I dug out of storage. Stood on the kitchen in free air. Uses ave 0.35 Kw a day. Peaks (I had to watch for this when I heard it turn on) 69w and tails to 51w just before it shuts off. Runtime (accurate from BLUE), 6 hours a day. Temp max 5.8c, Min 3.9c. SO the question becomes, (and if you read this far, thank you) is the Blue Beast worth having? ABSOLUTELY! You can very quickly find out what an item, or set of on the same 4way, appliance uses, right at that moment or over a period of time. And for a fridge, or washing machine < 60'C, 2h40m, 1.44Kw, 48p at 33p/unit> (as long as you can get to the plug and plug it in) you can gather enough data to decide to rip out an old built in fridge and put the 16 year old one in instead.... and save ยฃ80 a year.
