Hi, the depth of the hook of our tablet stand to support the device is about 16mm/0.63 inches. If the thickness of your tablet with the thicker case is less than 16mm, it can be hold.

Q: how long are the feet which hold the monitor. I have a field monitor 27mm widem and need to know if this would sit on it ok

Hi, The width of the hook of our portable monitor stand to support the device is about 16mm/0.63 inches, which cannot hold the 27mm wide monitor. Sorry for that.

Q: Can the friction be increased? It’s unable to hold my iPad Pro 12.9’’ at slacker angles.

I've looked and can't see a way of increasing the friction. Mine is very stiff and hasn't needed tightening but Iguess sooner or later it will. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Q: Will this support a kindle 10" in portrait position?

Yes, the Kindle 10" can be supported perfectly in portait mode. You can see from the video, the gap between the hooks is just a little wider than 5.9 inches Smart Phone. So Smartphone normally can only be supported in landscapge mode. Devices from 7-15 inches can be well supported both in portait and landscape mode, including kindle 10, iPad Pro 12.9 stand, Surface Pro 7, etc.
