Doesn't work - the machine or the service
This is the second Hoover dryer that I have purchased and returned. Hoover customer service is diabolical. Both machines have had the same fault to do with the wireless connection. I specifically bought a machine with this facility because I am currently bed-ridden having come home from major surgery. I knew that I would have a lot of bed linen to wash when I came home from surgery and I am also quite anxious about fires. My bed and the machine are about as far away from each other as is possible in a large old town house. I have x2 other Hoover machines (washer and dishwasher) that are connected to my wireless network with no issues. The tumble dryer(s) have been sat next to these machines though there is no connectivity and some of the messages on the app suggest to me that Hoover have got ahead of themselves and perhaps the technology is not in place on these machines? Whichever way, the staff at Hoover, in the first instance take over a week to reply to emails and when they do, they try to put the onus on the customer rather than sending out an engineer to address the issues. I can barely walk right now and they had me recording x4 videos, repeatedly implying (without any evidence, a bit like Trump) that I was connecting to the wrong network or putting in the wrong password or... This is even though I have x2 other machines connected to the same network and working fine. The videos paraphernalia only stopped when I played up about it otherwise, God knows how many more they would have wanted. What they could learn from Amazon in terms of customer service! The first machine (11kg) had already (just) past its return date but Amazon didn't question me once in this regard and accepted it back without issue. As for this machine (9kg), it arrived on the 11th of July and it's now the 4th of August. The connectivity was obviously the first thing I checked once it came and it has now sat, without being used while I waited for a reply from Hoover. This came on the 31st of July to tell me that they're looking into it. Hoover is an investment company and is only interested in you signing up for their horrendously expensive warranty deals. I don't need one right now because in both instances I am covered by their 1 year warranty that comes with the purchase. They don't want to send out an engineer but would rather threaten you with the line that it will cost you £160 if the fault is proved to be at my end and not with the machine. The fault is not at my end, the fault is with their poorly manufactured appliances and even poorer service.

Most affordable we could find
After shopping around for the best deal we could find on a heat pump dryer, this was the most affordable. There's a setting called "All In One" for mixed loads and that's works well enough when you just want to keep on top of the washing for a family of four but it will take a few hours. The water tank in the door is easy to empty and likewise the lint filter. The drum only spins in one direction which means smaller items do get tangled in larger items and can stop them drying properly. If you can afford I'd suggest a slightly better spec.

Does the job and cheap to run
Here is my review after 3 months of ownership. I personally think this is a great tumble drier for the price. The main selling point for me was the heat pump technology. Like everyone else , I did my research online about the best type of tumble drier to get, Vented vs Condenser vs Heat Pump. This heatpump is much cheaper to run over a traditional vented or condenser. I have a smart plug attached to this to monitor the power usage and one load uses less then 1KW of electricity I use it for bedding and towels. I simply put it on the all in one setting and let it do it's thing. It comes up on the display saying 3 hours 55 minutes run time, but this machine has dry sense technology (so it knows when your clothes are dry) and is usually done in less than two hours. If you want a tumble dryer that won't cost a fortune to run, then buy this one

Slower than condenser but more cost effective
This is a good heat pump dryer with a multitude of drying programs I keep mine in the garage and can't comments on the noise levels (as per other reviews). The 11kg drum helps with large loads of towels/bed sheets. Anyone who has owned a condenser dryer will need to have patience as the drying time with a heat pump is longer but it is more energy efficient (based on smart meter monitor) and actually does not cost more even though drying time is a little longer. This dryer has two options for drainage; either to an external drain via pipe or the draw which is on the inside of the dryer door. Overall good product.

Very poor
We ordered this to replace a Beko Condenser Dryer which had served us well for about 10 years, and after unwrapping our initial impressions were quite positive - perhaps getting a little too excited by WiFi connectivity and some flashing lights! Unfortunately the machine itself wasn't up to scratch; the door attachment to the main unit was a bit springy and didn't look like it would last, and in operation the machine was a lot noisier than our last one. There's also no clear indicator by looking at the machine as to which program is which, so unless you're using the app (which is a nightmare to register for) then you're left staring at a bunch of hieroglyphs on the dial and trying to match those to the manual. However the main issue was it simply didn't work - we put a load of washing in to dry on a 2 1/2 hour eco program and were told on schedule that there was 15 mins left to run. It then continued to show 15 mins to run for a further 3 hours until we manually turned it off and removed the now-cooked clothes. Have arranged to return to Amazon within 2 days of receiving, and will be spending the refund paying the electric bill!

Works well - why would anyboby buy a conventional dryer when heat pump dryers are this cheap?
This thing dries clothes perfectly and aspects such as the water collection chamber are well designed and easy to use. If you do the maths based upon the energy savings when compared to a conventional dryer (with a heating element) then this thing pays for itself in a couple of years (based upon a normal families usage). One thing to note though: Despite what the Amazon description says this ISN'T supplied with a drain hose - you have to buy that separately (if you want one - it's entirely optional).
