JBL GTO 804EZ 80-Watt X 4 High-Performance 4-Channel Amplifier

Update 03-30-2016 It has now been about two years since the purchase of this amp. It is still rocking just as hard as when I first installed it. Hasn't failed me once. Great product. Bought these to power a set of JBL P660C and JBL P908 in my Altima Coupe. And so far these amp has powered these babies without a hitch. The loudest point on my listening before I can't handle the sound inside the car and it still does not distort. Showing me that it is actually giving the 90w RMS @ 2ohm that it promised on the specs. It is small and easy to mess around with it if you are the type that knows what you are doing but due to lack of time had to get someone else to install it for you. The guys at the shop didn't use the included CD to set the gain which I went on to do so and was able to increase the gain by a good 10%. Would recommend to anyone looking for a clean looking low profile amp that can give the enough power to your needs.

This amp was easy to install , but it is not very compatible with other amplifiers. When I tried using its auxiliary out and plugging it up to the other amplifier it goes into power protection mode.

I used this to run my JBL P660C 6 1/2" power series components as per recommendation directly from JBL. I called their tech line and asked for someone who spoke english. I got Tom an extremely knowledgeable tech who told me that this amp is perfect for these speakers and man was he right. they are extremely loud and amazingly clear. With sound fed from an audio control lc6 off the stock head unit of my g37 (non bose) through a Rockford 3sixty.3 the sound is life like. The speakers say they can take 100 rms but this seems to be more than enough. I am giving this amp probably the best chance it could have because of how good the signal is I'm giving it. The gains are almost nil. With that being said I'm not sure how this would fare in a situation where the pre amp voltage was either really low or of bad quality. I can tell you this If you have a good head unit or eq or line driver or loc feeding this thing some nice pre amp voltage it is magnificent especially when coupled with the 660 speakers.

I am powering my new sets of jbl components and this amps doing great the speakers are 2ohm and I believe there wired in 4ohm so mabey that's why the clarity is there but the mid sucks- again this amp from my last gto 640 4ch is a night and dayas I could only goto 23-24 on my avh3100 dvd pionier and now I can goto 40 but I still want louder and more that's the addiction- this 1 is a auto tuner so u just adjust to the lights accordingly its 940 I believe peak but may be more according to smd 501ez amp dino test this is 1.5x wider and in every other aspect identicle to the 501 or 4 ez it displaces 2 separate crossovers the end plated are remove able and real heat shrink metal the screws are short n small be carful u mount it by removing these it may take 4 awg I believe I ran 8awg from r/f

This amp replaces a 60 watt x 4 amp that never seemed to have that full soundstage. The difference is VERY noticeable. The LEDs for adjusting the gain are an outstanding feature, and setting up the amp, once installed, couldn't be easier. I am running a Kenwood head unit through this amp, into Infinity Kappa component 6.5s in the front doors, and Infinity Reference 6.5 coax's in the rear doors of my 2004 Silverado Crew Cab. With the amp adjusted to match the speakers' frequency range, I could see this being decent even without a subwoofer. With the twin 10" Pioneer subs, pushed by a Kenwood mono amp, I have a full soundstage. This amp is very musical, and has made me fall in love with my sound system again.

Where do I start?? This amp is not only good looking but very powerful! I paired this with the JBL 660c components and the amp pushes them through the roof! Each speaker is getting 100watts rms at 2ohm which is perfect. The sound quality is superb. The amp does get hot but it's not a big deal at all. The gain set up leds is an amazing feature, it makes set up a breeze. It is a very compact size and fits nicely in my Tacoma. I highly recommend this amp.

I bought this amp after I'd done a lot of looking around and comparing... and for the price this thing performs with flying colors! I have it pushing my four alpine type S 6.5" woofers and they sound amazing. The name isn't a joke, it has the simplest set up I've ever seen. This just adds to the great reputation of JBL.
