Benefect Botanical Disinfectant - 1 gallon

This product was recommended by two different mold inspectors. I'd made the mistake over "over humidifying" my home over the winter, causing mold spots to appear on the walls in the front hall. Both inspectors recommended this product as being safe and effective. It has worked perfectly. It may seem expensive but you really need a fair amount when washing down walls, since the inspectors said to wash a much larger area than where I could see mold spots. One inspector also said to purchase a spray bottle and put some disinfectant in it to spray ceiling joists in basement (rather than wiping down with cloth). If I could give this product more than 5 stars, I would.

Someone asked if you could use this in your mouth. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't but I wanted to post the label so people could decide for themselves. It of course states to keep away from children. It is a concentrate which you mix with water. We did a large job at our home that was caused by water damage. The smell was wonderful (herbal...thyme..) compared to any other disinfectant we had available. I suppose another option would be a Thieves concoction (Young Living Essential Oils product). But this by far I feel did a wonderful job and smelled good. Best of luck to all who need to remediate the mold in their lives.

I found out about this stuff from work, where it is important to have a sterile environment and tools. I am extremely sensitive to harsh cleaning chemicals and feel very safe using this product. It smells clean but does not burn my eyes, lungs, or skin. It is hospital grade too! I realised after getting it that is is what they use in sensitive hospital spaces that need to be chemical free like NICU and maternity wards or oncology wards! I use it everywhere now because it is safer and more effective than anything else I have found.

This stuff really works well. My wife was exposed to toxic mold previously and is very sensitive. She uses Benefect to clean the areas that are suspect, works very well.

I had a professional remediation done on my crawlspace with this product. It helped my severe mold "allergies" and took away the odor of decomposition in the house by 60%. It still left a moldy odor in everything wood, which I'll have to replace.Then, I used it myself, in a fogger to do a few more rounds in the house. It was harsh on my lungs and throat. It's made from thyme, some essential oils can be harsh and have VOCs.I also have used Concrobium, a salt, with no odor and EC3, which is citrus-based but mellow and pleasant. I was not as sensitive to essential oils in EC3. I can't say which one works best but EC3 seems to remove more mold odors. I will keep fogging my house with the latter two products and only use this in the crawlspace, in the future.
