It’s a Teknatool Supernova sized chuck for about $80 less than the Teknatool model, and that makes it attractive to turners on a budget or those looking for an inexpensive second, third, or even fourth chuck for convenience. You get one set of jaws around 50mm in size, and for some reason, a spring loaded punch. Quality is good overall, with good finish and mostly smooth operation, although the 1x8 threading on my sample had burrs that required chasing with a 1x8 tab before it would thread smoothly on my spindle adapter.It’s also a bit cruder than a Supernova, and uses a square drive to operate the jaws rather than the hex keys used by Teknatool. It’s direct threaded, which means you don’t need an insert, but it’s limited to 1x8 spindles. That does fit a lot of mini and midi lathes, however. If you’re a beginner with one of the ubiquitous 10x18 lathes made by Central Machine and sold under a variety of names, this is a decent and functional chuck that can save you a few dollars.

first impressions, it's a heavy duty, well made chuck. Was coated pretty good with oil, which I guess is good, but you'll want to have a rag handy to clean it up. Screwed on to my Delta 46-460 lathe perfectly, fit as it should. The jaws move freely and easily.Only negative I have is that there are NO instructions included. I know most people that buy this will know how to use it, but what about first timers? What about best uses? Safety? Plus with no instructions, seems like the company doesn't care so much about their customers. 1 star off. Don't be lazy.There is also a center punch in the package. I have no idea why because there are in instructions. This is a chuck, not like you need to mark a center.Overall it is a good chuck so far and the price is right. Long as you know how to use it, I would recommend.

Direct fit on my Laguna 1216 midi lathe. Works great for bowls or outboard turning. Locks tight, and appears to be very well made.I'd recommend this chuck for any lathe with 1"x 8 threads.

Having owned my own manufacturing company for 40 years I have bought a lot of equipment. You know a company takes pride in its products when you receive it double boxed, and not China cardboard, padded with foam and then oiled and packed in a plastic bag. All surfaces are machined, not as cast, and the scroll seems to work smooth with no binding. I need to machine an adapter as my lathe is 3/4 -16 thread but have no worries that this little chuck will work just fine. Looking forward to using it.
