Ghost Bond is still a heavy hitter.
I've been wearing lace units on and off since at LEAST 2008, so I have around 17yrs of experience with them. Ghost Bond is still one of the heavy hitters. I've tried some of the other "budget" bonding glues and there is nothing out there like Ghost Bond. This is the platinum version which is the sweat-friendly formula. Comparing this to any of the budget bonds, it's like night & day. This unit ain't going NOWHERE lol.If you want a bond that will last you at least 2 or more weeks (which, although it is possible, I do NOT recommend longer than a 2 week bond; your skin and scalp needs to breathe etc), this is the one. Make sure you 100% FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. You have to layer it on and do at least 4 even coats before bonding down your lace Also, this is REALLY IMPORTANT, but make sure EACH layer goes CLEAR before applying the next one. Make sure your skin is prepped and cleaned underneath. I shampoo my hair AND a little bit of my forehead, then go in with 99% MEDICAL GRADE alcohol, then go back in with a good scalp protector. I make sure it is 100% dry and that my skin is free of oils. Even though this is a oil-friendly formula, the area where you are applying your unit should be DRY for the application. Sweat or oil-friendly just means once it's bonded properly, you can sweat. You can't have a wet or sweaty surface when applying it, so keep that in mind. Also, if this formula by itself isn't enough for you to get that needed hold, it is ok to stack or combine bonds. Some girls may require a combination of bonding glue AND say, a good bonding TAPE, for example. If you want to guarantee that 4 to 6 week hold, you will def need to combine a bonding glue AND a tape; my go-to for tapes has always been the OG, Super Tape. It's the only one I trust when it comes to lace tapes. All these new ones, I don't know what's in them, but I don't trust them. Super Tape has been around since at LEAST the early 2000s and is a trusted brand. Giving y'all some free game. Also, there is NO rule that says you can't combine two diff Ghost Bond Formulas as well. If the Platinum formula or the XL formulas don't work separately for you, you can combine them to get the ultimate hold. Same procedure applies, 4 even coats, but in this case, you would do 2 coats of each to equal the 4 coats. Or, if you want that GORILLA GRIP HOLD lol then do 4 of each but I don't recommend that. Anyway, play around with different combinations and find the one that works for you, if the single formulas are not working for you. We all live in different climates, have differing skin types, etc. some of us even have combination skin types, which is why it would make sense to use a combination of adhesives in such instances. If you're having trouble getting your nape/back area to bond down, consider using tape there instead; that tends to work a lot better than any creams or bonding glues by themselves. Either tape by itself or tape combined with the glue. You may see better results that way and get a longer lasting hold.Last tip, for removal from the skin, I highly recommend Goo-Gone Bandage Remover. It might sound crazy, but it is a GAMECHANGER. Any residue left on your skin after you remove your unit, will INSTANTLY come off with Goo-Gone. You don't need much, literally just put some on a cotton round and GENTLY rub it in circles. Do not be aggressive. Gently and slowly. If you decide to let it set for like 5 min before rubbing it off, it'll be even easier. After that, you shampoo the rest off. Also it has MANY other uses; this is literally what is recommended to use when you get gum in your hair or anything else sticky. It is like magic. To remove any bond residue from my lace I use Citrus C-22 Solvent (another classic heavy-hitter), plus I spray a little apple-cider vinegar/water solution and let it set. Then, I boil a little water, put it in a small portion cup mixed with that 99% alcohol I mentioned earlier, take a toothbrush and dip it in the alcohol/hot water mixture, GENTLY scrub it into the lace and it comes RIGHT OUT, literally flakes off. Never takes me more than 5 min to get all of it off. Then just follow up by shampooing the lace and conditioning the HAIR. Lace is clean and back like new.Anyway, like I said, Ghost Bond is one of the heavy hitters and is tried and true. Those who are not getting the security they need are simply not following the instructions, or their skin type is not compatible. Other reasons could be you are not properly cleaning your lace or there is leftover oil in the lace from your last removal. If there is ANY oil leftover in your lace, you could clean your skin till the cows came home and your bond simply won't last due to oil residue. So make sure that after you have completely removed any and all traces of glue, that you then go in and make sure your lace is clean and crisp and free of any oils. And if your skin is outright breaking, that is a sign you are keeping your units on for too long or not allowing your skin to breathe between installs. In that case, shortening your wears would be optimal (instead of constant 4-6 week bonds, scale it back to 2 or 3 weeks, for example).***07/19/2025 and JUST to show y'all that this stuff DOES work as intended, I'm happy to inform you that I went ahead and did the bond + tape combo (summer months and what not) and this bond is STILL going strong. I worked out yesterday (I burn anywhere from 1000-1500cals per workout and it is STILL holding up). Also, a small disclaimer that I forgot to mention earlier, is that if you choose the tape-to-glue method, when you initially place your lace, you may or may not notice some "white" at the bond area. Do NOT be alarmed; let the lace and bond combo CURE for at least 24hrs (meaning NO SWEATING or GETTING WET for 24hrs, same instructions you are given when you get eyelash extensions done professionally, stop playing w me lol) and I promise you it will go back clear after that. Once it does, it ain't going ANYWHERE. If you need to cover the area during that time (maybe you have to go to work or just out to run errands etc), just wear a headband or something until then. After that you can take it off and admire the melt/hold. Also, when washing your hair, make sure you are getting the shampoo on your natural hair and scalp, and the SHAFT of the wig hair ONLY. Do not put any conditioner on the actual bonded area of the wig or you will loosen your bond (although this can be a GREAT way to loosen it up once you're finally ready to remove your unit). But yes, if done correctly, you can still wash your hair with the unit still in place (and you are supposed to anyway if you are keeping it on for more than 2 weeks at a time) and it'll be fine. The only time I would recommend a 4 to 6 week hold is like if you are going on an extended vacation or you'll be out of town where you may or may not have access to the tools/products you need to do a reinstall at the ready. I do recommend at least bringing your glue with you for the occasional touch up as it may or may not be needed while you are away.

A little goes a long way
This works really great! I found you only need to dab a little bit, and it dries fast! Perfect for a lace front!

Strong Hold, but Application Takes Practice
This glue is powerful and really holds through sweat and humidity. Great for lace wigs and toupees. I just wish the drying process was faster and a bit easier to apply evenly. Still one of the best out there!

My Go-To
I work in the sun, and I also enjoy excercising. This glue holds up so well with sweating, just as long as multiple layers are applied and the instructions are followed. The cost might seem a bit much for the bottle, but a little goes a long way, and it works as it says it does!

Short lasting hold, terrible residue
Expensive for just a small amount. Hold is not great and doesn't last. If you are hot or sweat just a little bit, the adhesive will not hold and will turn white. As a result, you have to apply more glue which just ends up looking gunky and gross. Unit will be slipping and sliding if you use this glue. Not waterproof or sweatproof at all. Wouldn't recommend if you need a strong hold or if you live in hot, humid conditions

Great product, just not for those who live in hot weather/sweat proof/train hard
decent proudct and holds well when properly used. However, I dont care what anyone says none of these hold down a male hairline when its 95 degrees ouside or if you actually gring in a work out, make sure you bring a hat if not alone..
