12 inch Heat Sealer Blue

So happy I invested in this Heat sealer. Love that it’s so easy to use and seals my cookies perfectly. I don’t know why I waited so long to get it.

Lightweight and affordable, got me through shrink-wrapping over 500 books so far without any issue. Haven't had to change out the heating element yet. Easy enough to adjust the temperature and time yourself for an easy pull-away to remove the excess plastic.

Piwerod 12" Impulse heat sealer. Pros: works well, simple to use, fast (no preheating) and ready to go right out of the box. Employs same basic design as most others of varying prices. I chose this one for combination of lower price and inclusion of 3 replacement heating elements & Teflon strips. Requires a bit of trial and error to pick the correct heat setting for the material you are sealing, but has a wide range of settings to choose from. User guide (one sided 5x8 piece of paper) is full of translation errors, but not really needed. Product info on Amazon shows suggested settings for various materials. This information is NOT in the user guide. Wish list: would be nice if these units had a built-in or add-on adapter that had a small tray & guides to help position item to be sealed. Shaky hands with a small item could be tricky. A built in clip to hold the handle down for storage would be helpful. Cons: Plastic body, including activation lever. Lever does not feel as sturdy/stable as description suggests, but not terribly so. It's not a particularly strong/stiff plastic, so there is some side to side play and you need to use a light touch and press straight down. Not a real problem, but it is possible to push it off center. Could be some long term durability and stability concern here. Bottom plate is flimsy plastic but is vented, thankfully. Hinge mechanism is aluminum, rather than steel. Some more expensive units on the market ARE made of metal and would likely provide more stability and longevity. False/misleading advertising: 1) Heating wire is 2mm wide, not 3mm as description states. I actually prefer 2mm width. 2) Body and activation lever are plastic. Hinge is aluminum. However, description says: "Sealing machine is made of high-quality metal materials, stability and good rust effect, durable and sturdy. Die Casting Construction for a long-life span."

Problems with hot and cold spots along the heating element. Element and protective strip needs replacing frequently. Starts sparking inside after a while. It's a piece of junk and a safety hazard.
