So we all know the problem. What do you do with that half bottle of wine you have left over? Stick a cork back? Sort of works but still has air in the bottle which can taint the wine for the next usage.Simple answer is get one of these. Works a treat at storing half finished wine perfectly for next use. Easy to use and store and compliments the rest of the set in black nickel perfectly.

I bought this for my Dad who thinks it's a great idea and says that hes used it and been very happy with the quality of the wine the next day.

Useful if you can’t finish the bottle.Doesn’t fit screw top bottles well.

Sturdy, efficient. I was reluctant to buy as a cheaper one had not been as good. Keeps wine for two days longer.

Great product

Bought this as part of the recent special price deal for £15. Efficient Delivery, and given this is for a present, am pleased with the matt black presentation box. Visually, it's a nice product in shiny black nickel.I purchased the metal cased one - believe there are cheaper all plastic versions. That said, the inner pump on this one is also plastic. Time will tell on its durability.This does work - instructions are simple 4 step procedure, working like a bicycle pump in reverse and creating a vacumn :1. Place stopper on bottle2. Place pump on stopper3. Pump4. remove pump - leaving the stopper behind.Box comes with 3 rubber stoppers - so plenty of time to finish the various open bottles of wine!oh and a 10 year warranty too - overall, a great product

We though we'd spend a bit more on an expensive product as a "buy it for life" purchase, as is the case with a lot of Le Creuset stuff.It's not really up to the quality of the brand. The injection moulding of the plastic shaft is poor and seems cheap, so it scrapes and feels rough when you pump, the bungs fit poorly into many bottle tops, and the seal with the pump is too tight, so it's a bit of a faff to remove the pump without letting air in.It's ok, but I was expecting more for the price.

Be aware the stoppers do not fit screw wine bottles very well. You can get some suction of your apply great force downwards whilst using the pump. I had originally bought this for my mum and dad but I don’t think they will manage to get the amount of pressure required to be able to make the seal (once seal formed - great but be mindful if you have mobility/hand/strength issues). Cork bottles less issues or those with a narrower neck and opening. So unnecessary as would be easily solved by just giving some larger stoppers. Quite surprising from a larger and reputable company.
