These are great lighters. It is one of my huge complaints with a lot of lighters on the market, that they are not refillable. BUT this one IS. I have no idea why companies like BIC and others choose to not allow you to refill the lighters. So they just take up space in the trash heap after a short use span. I mean it's not like kids should really being playing with lighters anyway so it can't be a safety issue. I think it's just greed. But enough about that.I use mine for 4 main things. 1) To light the grill. Because no matter how expensive of a grill I end up buying the sparker will go out for sure within two years.2) I also use it to light my fake fire logs in the fireplace. Because I don't really want to stick my hand all the way in there when I'm turning on the natural gas with one hand and trying to light the fire with the other. It's about as far as I can reach even with the extended length of this lighter. But it works great for that. 3) Lighting birthday candles. 4) Lighting my stove on the right side burners because they stopped lighting themselves.I could easily see it being very helpful with lighting candles or the pilot light on your furnace or hot water heater. Or even getting a pit fire started outside. Safely with a water hose ready to go near by.

I'd buy them again due to teh price but the quality is poor. They feel flimsy like they'll break at any moment.I had one in the back pocket of my jeans and somehow broke it. The long stem broke loose of the base and wobbles around, though it still ignites.The piezo trigger pull is too tight. The flame adjustment level is sticky and barely changes the flame anyway when set to high or low.But... they are functional and very low cost.

These are so easy to use and are very reliable!
