5 stars as an early review. I'll update if quality issues come up, but so far I quite like and it's a huge improvement from the mount that comes stock with the G1W-CB and the other G1W's. Had two of those from ordering two of those dash cams, one of the cams broke from taking a fall due to the original mount failing. Within a couple of days of getting the replacement cam the stuck mount broke again, literally without even being touched. Came out to my car one night and the part that clips in had just snapped. Used the two broken mounts to assemble one working mount and later on the part that turns also snapped in half. Complete junk mount that comes with that cam...But this is a review for this mount, not that one, so I'll get back on topic. This mount has a rubber strip that wraps around the pole leading to the rear view mirror. Then it has two "c" shaped peices of plastic on hinges so that you can open it up, wrap it around the rubber and your mirror pole, then tighten it into a circle hugging the rubber piece and securing the mount. I would suggesting taking the rubber piece out first, wrapping it around your mirror pole to see if there's any excess. Cut the excess off so it can seal properly and securely. The rest is pretty similiar to the stock mount - a swivel with an attachment for the cam, and a turn-knob to tighten it and hold it in place.I think it also looks a lot better - almost "built-in," rather than having something hanging from your mirror. Especially if you conceal the wiring by running it beneath the headboard etc. Also a bit more discreet than the stock mount which is a plus. Another reviewer had mentioned it wasn't quite secure at the camera attachment and they had to swap the original swivel... As far as I can tell that's not a problem with the mount I have. One thing is you may need to reverse the swivel so that when you attach the cam, the power cord is on the opposite side of the screw that holds the mount on, so that they are not in the way of eachother. Also one thing I didn't consider was my toll pass also sits beneath my mirror. So currently a bit of the bottom of the toll-tag is in view of the camera. I plan on just moving it higher and getting a new tag if I have trouble re-securing.I rate it 5 stars as long as it doesn't turn out to be as fragile as the original, best I can tell so far it seems more durable.By the way I drive a 2010 Corolla in case anybody else that drives the same car wants to confirm it will fit.

Not perfect, but usable
Using this on a 2015 Odyssey with a G1WH. Ended up reversing the bolt/nut on the clamp so that the nut would point down instead of up. Otherwise this large nut would hit the lane watch sensor housing on the van and prevent me from properly positioning the rearview mirror. This wasn't ideal as only one half of the clamp has features to prevent the bolt from rotating as you tighten the nut. Had to hold the bolt from turning the best I could while tightening the nut. The clamp halves each have some rubber inserts (they can be pulled out) plus comes with a length of rubber belting. I had to experiment with different combinations of these to get the right fit. There is no latch feature to positively lock this mount to the dash cam like the old suction cup mount had. It just fits in the t-slot groove with a slight friction fit. So far it's staying in place, but seems like a potential problem area. Maybe a bit of black electrical tape around that junction would be cheap insurance to prevent the possibility of the dash cam wiggling out of the mount.I certainly prefer this over the suction cup mount the dash cam originally came with.

Does NOT Work With 2017 Hyundai Accent
This product is a great idea to replace the failing suction cup. I tried to revive the suction cup using the heat trick, but that only lasted a week. With internal car temperatures so high, and the propensity for plastics to dry out and become brittle in those conditions, it remains to be seen how long this new product will last.BUT.. for now it's working great.BE WARNED though... even with the included rubber strip, this unit will NOT fit a 2017 Hyundai Accent.. it's simply too large. Luckily, I had a roll of hook and loop (velcro) and I was able to wrap a length of that around the mirror post before placing the bracket over it.In my opinion, the bracket adjustment is way off... the smallest adjustment is just not small enough and the largest adjustment is larger than any mirror post ever manufactured on any vehicle.... it may even fit comfortably on a 1.5" - 2" drain pipe!

The best mount for your Dashcam
This is the second time I’ve purchased this item and it is the absolute best option for mounting a Dashcam. The first thing I did when I purchased my third Dashcam was thrown out the suction cup mount. It’s not worth the time because the way it’s assembled guarantees it will fall apart. The mirror rod mount is by far the best designed of all the others that are available and is easy to attach and adjust. I viewed other ones that have two long bolts and actually look like something that was made up in your garage.Being that I have three cameras , one for each of my vehicles I have come across a item that I would recommend to friends and family. I also would recommend it to anyone who reads my review. Don’t be concerned with the compatibility issues with your camera because you will find that this will work for almost every application.

Works well. As others have said, it does make my dash cam hang a little lower than I'd like. I now have a ~3in blind spot just under my mirror, which I'm okay with. Not much worse than people who hang fuzzy dice, etc.Another oddity, I've yet to figure out, is that it makes a rattling noise. I don't notice it much when I'm driving, but when I review my dashcam videos, it's VERY loud. I haven't spent the time to figure out what makes it rattle yet.Overall, I'm satisfied, though. Better than dealing with my G1W-C's broken suction cup (melted in the heat and detached from mount).

Works well with AutoVox d2 dash cam, clamp is a bit large.
The rear view mirror mount provides a nice intuitive way to anchor your dash camera to your car. It is far superior to the suction cup or sticky pad method as with this mount your dash cam won't fall off your windshield when it gets hot. All the connections tighten and provide a solid connection to the dash cam. One issue I have with it is the size of the clamp which was far too big for the rear view mirror bar of my hyundai accent. I ended up putting some sticky foam on the inside of the clamp to make it fit, which works well.I used this mount with the AutoVox d2 dash camera which isn't listed as one of the compatible dash cams, but it fits well and the snap is solid.

Good mount but tight fit on a Grand Cherokee
I order this at the same time i ordered my G1W-C. It is a far safer way to mount your dash cam than the included suction mount. The suction always fails at some point and your camera falls off the dash. This mount never fails. My only complaint with this mount is that it is a little too wide for the mirror in my Grand Cherokee. The mount fits my car's mirror mount but it is a tight fit that prevents the mirror from moving easily towards the driver.

Not what I was looking for
Shipping was fast, etc. but this dash cam rear view mirror mount is to big. The part that goes around the mirror shaft is way to wide and once installed, I cannot adjust my mirror. Order a different kind and waiting to see if smaller.

Bought it for a friend
Can't use it in my Ford Focus, there isn't enough space between the mirror and the rain sensor and other electronics in the mirror housing. No complaints from my friend, and I have a similar device like this holding my Bluetooth bathroom speaker to the shower curtain rod so I know it works good. Just make sure your mirror rod is thick enough.
