WARNING PLEASE USE CAUTION
This is a great set and the price is below $60 bucks. It is pretty straight forward and has usage label for each dye. If the dye happens to be same color as your coolant just go to local auto shop and buy alternate color. Do not put anything in your engine gas coolant or engine oil that is not recommended for the car. If you are not mechanically inclined leave it to the professionals. That said if you are buying this it is because you want to do it yourself. The kit works and you will be able to service cars a few times the best part of this kit is the UV light that connects right onto the battery. This means you never have to buy batteries and the cord is very long so you can see all over the engine. The kit comes with everything you see in the video and the major set back is to not have a case. The more expensive kits come with carrying case but that will run you extra $20 bucks or so. How to check for leaks 1. Your first step is visual inspection oil will flow down and backwards because of gravity. so start from the back of the car and move forward. 2. Look for highest point oil is coming from and that should be source of your leak 3. Clean the area of oil or coolant or what ever fluid is leaking with break parts cleaner and a paper towel or wd40 both work well for cleaning grease and oils. 4. Turn engine on again to see where fresh oil or coolant or leak is coming from this will help locate the exact spot for the leak. 5. If you still did not find leak manually then time for some uv dye. pour dye into fluid you are testing. (again you should clean area FIRST before putting in dye to get better results. be careful when injecting dye into pressurized systems so make sure to weak gloves and goggles. 6. Start the car after putting in dye and let the dye circulate through the system after 2-3 minutes turn engine off and connect your uv light and put on glasses and follow steps 1-2.and you should find your leak 7. Typical places for leaks are connection points hoses being cracked or broken, bolts being loose or seals being work, or maybe no leak at all just a sloppy mechanic who poured oil all over the place or didn't tighten oil filter. hope this advice helps if so please click the helpful link and let me know. and good luck with your leak job. this test works for any year make or model.

Works well, good product
I used this on my Vintage Air system in my 1974 Dodge Charger. The kit I used was universal so I made the lines and I was able to find a very small leak in one the lines. It was because of a poor job by me when I crimped an end on. This made the job much easier than expected!

Works Well
Good quality light, dye injector didn't work at all, the connector does not fit R-134a refrigerant systems so don't count on that but the light on the other hand works very well when it stays together. The lens started falling out during use about the 6 or 7th time using it. I believe the rubber that retains the lens does not like heat very well and loses its strength to hold in the glass lens. If you can figure out that problem the light works great.

Worked as advertised, but BE WARNED!
I've seen people take stars away from a product because they're dumb, and as much as I want to take stars away from this product for not working, the fact is I'm dumb, and that's the source of my disappointment. After doing some research, I went with this kit because the light is powered directly by the car battery. I read numerous reports of "cordless" battery operated lights not being bright enough or killing their own batteries quickly. Not a problem here - the light works great. It is worth the price of admission for this kit. I bought the kit to diagnose a coolant leak on my Jaguar, so the coolant dye is the only dye I've tried - take that for what you will. And it's the coolant dye that is the source of my frustration. In the first, the coolant dye that comes with this kit is an orange or yellow color, which happens to be almost the same color as dried up Dexcool. I found several false positives (dried Dexcool) before I learned to tell the subtle difference between that and a fresh leak (the dye). I should have known that dye comes in other colors, and bought a different color to start with. Duh, my bad. Secondly, this dye is SERIOUS BUSINESS. After finding my leaks I flushed the entire cooling system with distilled water TWICE, and there is STILL dye in the system. My coolant reservoir is full of bright green liquid instead of being full of of bright orange Dexcool. I'm annoyed at that, but as it turns out you can buy dye specifically designed for long-life coolants that will not discolor the coolant. I should have bought that before using the dye that comes in the kit. Duh, my bad again. Finally, the kit comes with a small spray bottle of cleaner. You're going to need this to remove dye that ends up all over your engine. The small bottle is not enough to clean up even 50% of the mess the dye will make with a good sized leak. I would strongly recommend getting a full-size bottle of dye cleaner before starting down this road. If you are diagnosing a smaller leak, or maybe a different type of leak (AC, etc.) maybe it won't be a problem, but I'd just have that bigger bottle on hand, just in case. :)

Leak detector
We used this on my sons 2003 Tacoma when we replaced some A/C parts. I have not had to test for leaks yet as everything is holding tight.

Great product
Best product with many uses like fuel and coolant dye unlike just the a/c dye. Great light as well.

A Durable and Reliable Leak Detector
I have been using it for 10 years and it still works just as well as it did when I first purchased it. The MASTERCOOL 53351-B Professional UV Leak Detector Kit is a high-quality tool that has stood the test of time for me. Pros: -The UV light is powerful and easily detects leaks in hard-to-reach areas. -The 50W mini light is a convenient addition, making it easy to see any leaks that may be present. -The build quality is durable, this tool has lasted me a decade of consistent use. It's a great investment for anyone in need of a leak detector.

The kit is set up to test for different kind of leaks. It worked really well. The UV light flashlight is very durable and well built. The only thing that’s not clear from the instructions is what dye to use for power steering fluid (it’s the oil one) and how much to put in. I poured half the little bottle and it’s more than plenty! Probably should have went with 1/4 or 1/8th of the bottle. You don’t even need the special glasses with the amount of fluid I used ;). I found my leak, it was a small hose clamp, saved myself $2500 worth of mechanical work. So definitely worth it.
