I needed a different type of spring
We discovered we needed a different type of spring, however this part looked fine, but I can't tell you if it works.

Quality gate spring that lasts
I have been using these for years. About as high a quality gate spring as you can get. Definitely prefer the nipple lock over the plate that comes with the cheaper springs.

the other two springs on the market are no better than this one
The previous 2 times I bought this spring they each lasted about five years. But they are using a different manufacturer now and this one lost its shape and became ineffective in about three days. Had to throw it away and reverse the swing of the gate, because, I know from experience, the other two springs on the market are no better than this one.

Three out of three springs were shipped with defective parts
The spring keepers did not fit in the holes on every single spring. Two of the springs broke entirely. No instructions shipped with the springs.
