Markings by C.R. Gibson Brown Italian Leatherette Padfolio (MLLP-12086AZ)

I ordered this padfolio in brown with the magnetic closure tab to hold my script for officiating weddings and other ceremonies. It's a beautiful color, and I was very pleased to see that this particular model is made of polyurethane and not actual leather. This padfolio is lightweight and easy to hold open with a single hand -- a must for my needs. The magnetic closure tab is brilliant; it works well and won't accidentally snag your clothes like velcro does.The reason I'm giving this padfolio three stars and not five is that the manufacturer has placed a huge barcode sticker directly on the leatherette, and the the sticker won't peel off cleanly. (See the first attached photo.) I'm going to try spraying Goo Gone on the sticker remnant to see if it will come off, and hopefully it won't ruin the beautiful color of the leatherette.Given the situations in which people will be using this item -- job interviews, and in my case, officiating ceremonies -- the padfolio needs to have a clean look on both sides. I consider it a huge and unfortunate oversight by the manufacturer that they placed the sticker directly on the leatherette and that it uses an adhesive that doesn't quickly and cleanly peel off. If it weren't for the sticker, I would be delighted with this padfolio.**Update, one week later**I used Goo Gone to remove the sticker remnant, and it worked fine and thankfully did not ruin the leatherette. It took 24 hours for the Goo Gone to fully dry and disappear (see photos). The quality of this padfolio is still five stars, but I'm maintaining my overall three-star rating because of the hassle of removing the barcode sticker remnant.**Update, September 2016**Without bothering to inform me, Amazon removed the five photos I originally included in my review. These photos were not in any way inappropriate. They showed (1) a front view of the padfolio in its original packaging, (2) the sticker remnant after unsuccessfully trying to peel it off, and (3, 4, 5) the condition of the leatherette at three stages after applying Goo Gone. Unfortunately, I no longer have these photos and cannot reinsert them into this review. However, I have inserted a small screenshot showing the thumbnail images of my photos, proving that they were indeed posted at one point but have since been removed. Did the manufacturer request the photos be removed? Seems shady.

Pros: Color (Italian brown leatherette) was true to the pictures. It is a nice color.Cons:You can see the glue in between the edges. However, I was able to easily peel off the visible glue, but others might have it worse.There is a sticker on the back. I couldn't peel it all off at the first go, so I had to resort to using rubbing alcohol to remove the sticker residue. It worked for the back. However, there was also some sort of sticky residue on the surface in between the magnet closure. I used rubbing alcohol here again, but this time the region where I applied the rubbing alcohol became discolored. I don't know why there would be sticky residue in between the magnets; perhaps it was just my single product that had it. So unless you are an expert at removing sticker residue, I would recommend looking for another product.

Good price. Sticker peels off “leather” and leaves a big spot where it was even with sticker remover product. Just a heads up be prepared for a permanent sticker or blank spot where “leather” should be.

Didn't like that I had to open up this pad folio to see my appointments.Got a plastic see-through clip board, drilled off the clip hardware and duct taped a pad of paper to it.I flip it open to write on it and I can see my appointments through the cover when closed for quick reference.Someone should make that product.

It's good quality for the price and includes a pad of paper which is nice. However the sticker on the back WILL NOT come off. I've tried and tried and I'm not sure if I should try more to scrape the rest off because I'll probably end up ruining the leather. If the sticker was removable, I would have given a higher rating.

Bigger than I expected, and the material, although nice, is pretty delicate. I received it yesterday and it already has scratches just for bringing it to the university in my bag. But I like the color and how it feels. I bough it for my conference presentations, so I am happy with the looks.

This is a nice starter portfolio for the price. When I removed the sticker on the back it did pull a bit of the leather off so I have two small holes in the product now but they aren't really noticeable just a disappointment. It has a nice soft feel and seems to be well made.

This product was as expected, except the back of it was scratched - very unprofessional given my intended purpose.
