There is a hole at the bottom of the bird. Pull out the plug and I used a 6 ft. piece of pvc pipe. Insert the bird on the pipe. Simple.

Q: Can you order the plastic piece that makes the head swivel? It sure didn’t stick in well and fell out in the wind and is lost?

I don’t know for sure if you can order or make something to fit it but I do know that piece makes no difference on mine, the head will only go around if I move it. I even tried spraying the spring with lub oil. Still to much friction. Go lick on your hunt, I know I wouldn’t pay for the plastic replacement.

Q: Will this deter black vultures from flying over our yard?

I dont have vultures in my area so I can't help with that. But I would recommend making sure the head spins with the wind before you keep it. The head on mine stopped turning after a week and now I have to movie it 3-4 times a week.

Q: how much does it weigh filled with sand?

No clue- we screwed it to a large dowel stuck in ground.
