My Fingers can breathe again
I have a Surface Go and was using keyboard that comes with it. It s actually very nice and works well when traveling but since it is the same size as the screen, it is cramped. Well, my pc at home crashed and burned and I was looking at PC's and then remembered I have the Go at home. I thought that will get me by for a bit. So, I got a USB C add on with USB hook ups and am now using my Go as my primary PC. AND it's working. I do NOT do anything intensive so for basic word apps and web browsing, I'm not even going to get another PC....but the keyboard was not going to work for the long haul and I remembered Microsoft had these. So, I read the reviews and hesitantly bought one. It is fanstastic. After years at work I find the action of this keyboard to be very satisfying. NONE of the "issues" others have noted have bothered me or even been noticed. The typing is instant and I love having a complete keyboard in front of me with the number pad. It appears to be well built and I love the bluetooth connection as this is my first bluetooth keyboard. Awesome. I don't use in the dark so don't care about a lighted keyboard. Just more stuff to go wrong...

Best Microsoft product ever!
The best keyboard I ever had. 2x AAA Battery very easy to find, and it last like a year or so. Very conformatel size. Noise level is pretty unnoticeable. Worth any penny

Had low expectations since it's made by Microsoft, but pleasantly surprised
I bought this keyboard in February, along with the matching Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse. Typically I'm not a fan of these chiclet style keyboards. I use a Ducky One 2 Mini at home and prefer that for personal use. I use this all day at work, lots of linux shell, command line work so I wanted a 10 key. I like the low profile, the build quality, battery life. Even the integrated windows buttons come in handy now and then. It's light and thin, I actually carry this back and forth to work every day. I wish they had a hardshell case for it, but right now I just toss it in a neoprene zipper case. It connects flawlessly every single morning without fail, I haven't had any ghosting or delay issues. I've changed the batteries about 3 times since February, but it does get heavy usage. It does not have a physical "off" switch so sometimes it's in my backpack and keys occasionally get bumped. Overall I'm really surprised with the quality of this keyboard, it's a great work keyboard, pair it with an MX Master or the Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse for a super comfy work setup.

Perfect keyboard for work
This keyboard is really nice. It is solidly built, very simple to set up out of the box, and is incredibly pleasing to type on. The buttons are spaced out nicely and everything is where a touch typist would expect. The keys all give a satisfying click feel and are at an appropriate volume when typing. If you are a gamer you will probably want to go with a mechanical keyboard, but everyone else would probably be well suited with this keyboard. I personally went through two others that I sent back before sticking with this one. The fact that this keyboard is a true Bluetooth connected device (you don't have to plug in a USB receiver to use it) is also very nice, because it means that you can use it not only with your laptop, as I am doing, but also with your tablet or phone, and can connect up to two devices at once. The only complaint I have, and it is a small quibble but is the reason I am not giving it five-stars, is that the keyboard uses two triple A batteries rather than a lithium ion battery that you can recharge with micro-usb, as virtually all other electronic devices now have. The battery life seems to be OK, but in 2020 I don't want to be swapping batteries out on my keyboard, I should just be able to plug it in with a USB cable when it gets close to dying. I suppose the price would've been higher with a rechargeable battery, but I would've happily payed that cost rather than have to spend money and time buying batteries. That being said, if you are thinking of buying this keyboard I would not let that dissuade you, it is a quality keyboard for anyone who has to type a lot and wants something that is going to feel nice when you use it.

Great product but lousy shipping from seller!
It was shipped with original packaging any major protection! Came in a folded padded envelope. By the time I got it the keyboard had torn through the large envelope which was secured with packing tape. Then the backspace key had a chip on the key itself. Purely cosmetic as everything functioned perfectly and the rest of the keyboard looked flawless.

Better than I expected
Take it out of the box, say "Wooooow" as you realize how light it is, remove the plastic strip separating the batteries from the connectors and you are good to go. Setup was as straightforward as could be. Thing is, though, that I tried a LOT of keyboards before I finally found some cheapy that felt right. Right before I bought this one I tried two others (gaming keyboards no less) and they all felt uncomfortable to use so for that reason this stayed in my inbox for over a year since I just wasn't sure if I wanted to take the chance on this... But I eventually did (obviously) and the buttons are soft to the touch, responsive, have a great hit response depth, they sound so soft when you press them... Everything about this keyboard is awesome... except the lack of backlight. I am going to find this especially troublesome since I work mostly at night but I guess that is what light bulbs are for, right? Ironically enough, since I am on a desktop I don't get to change my screen brightness so, even though the WIndows "What's new" tips tell me "You can now set the brightness right next to the time! You are welcome" I actually do NOT have that feature. I miss it from my Mac days but on my desktop it simply isn't there... but with this keyboard's built in keys for screen brightness adjustment I finally DO have direct access to that feature literally right at my fingertips. I can now spend all day watching that brightness bar go up and down while not actually doing anything at all to my display's brightness.... :( Literally, this KB does more than I expected :P lol As for normal features, it does them very well and I am very happy with it. I just wish it had backlighting. It's the only thing this is lacking.

Awesome Keyboard!!
I work all day on documents, presentations, spreadsheets, etc. and until now, I have never found a keyboard that can handle my workload. And it is not for lack of trying, I have tried tons of keyboards but none passed the test. I was excited when I found the Surface Keyboard—the keys feel so natural under my fingers and it has a smoothness to it that makes typing an enjoyable experience for me. To make things better, it connects to the PC via Bluetooth, so there are no wires to make my desk untidy. The Bluetooth connection gave me one or two problems earlier on, but since I’ve learned how to connect it, it has been smooth sailing. Also, when you leave the keyboard idle for a long period, it puts itself to sleep but it usually comes on immediately when you touch a key (with minimal lag time). If you type fast like I do, then there’s a chance that you usually disturb the people around you. With this keyboard, however, there is no chance of that happening; it is very quiet. The question I’ve been asking myself since I bought it is: why didn’t I find this keyboard earlier?

The Best Wireless Full Sized Keyboard You Can Buy
This keyboard is nothing short of amazing. I'm using this to replace my Corsair Strafe RGB keyboard. Obviously the Surface Keyboard is a completely different product compared to the keyboard it replaced - Don't get me wrong, the Strafe is an amazing keyboard but it's large, the cables are huge, and I tend to prefer membrane keyboards for typing (I know I'm crazy). I've been looking for a good wireless keyboard for a while. I wanted a full size wireless keyboard because I do like to game occasionally and having the function keys + num pad is a must. This is the first wireless full sized keyboard I've used that really hits all the marks: + The key spacing is great + Lots of travel on the keys + Metal construction + Smart, well thought out short cut keys (1 button to lock PC, bring up email, calculator, etc) + Great range and battery life Here are the things that I think can be improved for the next generation: - While key travel is great, it's a little stiff - Would love to have adjustable feet to raise keyboard angle Over all, if you're looking for a great, full-sized wireless keyboard for your Windows PC, this is the one to get. I'd even argue this is an excellent solution for Mac users who have been waiting for Apple to release a wireless version of Apple's full sized keyboard. (I was one of those people).
